In the message from CD Projekt Red included with the game, they provide you with a special code (605185) that unlocks the shutter down the stairs from the hotel sign in Kabuki roundabout. This will open a secret room where you can turn on the TV. The members of the development team will be displayed on the TV one by one.
If you check out the hotel bar during the mission called “The Heist,” you’ll find a character named Oshima who is actually a cameo from Hideo Kojima. As you approach him, he will be talking to himself about his work and how he wants to truly capture emotion to tell a story that surpasses others.
During the mission called “The Hunt,” given to you by Detective River Ward, you enter a facility that includes a BB from Death Stranding on display, complete with a description that says the device detects BTs.
In the tunnel north of the Sunset Motel fast travel point, you can find the Batmobile and add it to your list of cars. There is also a datashard in the area about “Murk Man,” which contains several additional Batman references.
On the roof of the Advocet Hotel, you’ll find a character who looks similar to Roy Batty from Blade Runner, holding a bird as a nod to the dove in his monologue scene.
The quest called “The Heisenberg Principle” involves destroying a lab that was used to manufacture a drug. This and the name of the quest are references to Breaking Bad.
Next to the toilet in V’s apartment are simply three seashells. This is a reference to the movie Demolition Man.
In the Badlands, you can find the corpses near a disc marked 101. Their conversation reveals that they were roleplaying a situation where they left bunker 101 after a nuclear war, a nod to the Fallout series.
In the Badlands, you can find a refrigerator with a corpse in it, as well as a note referencing the Mythbusters episode about whether or not a refrigerator could save you from an explosion like in Indian Jones and the Crystal Skull.
When you meet with Sergei during the “Olive Branch” quest, he tells you about a hitman who had a dog with him and looked like an average guy, and mentions that he wasn’t “breathtaking.” This is a reference to both Keanu Reeves in John Wick and to his comments during E3 2019.
When Johnny first takes over, one of the scenes involves a man in a black coat offering him a blue bill or a red pill, a reference to The Matrix.
One of the vehicles during the “Epistrophy” mission sounds suspiciously similar to GLaDOS from the Portal series, with a cake reference also included.
The Skippy gun will sometimes hum the song “Disturbia” by Rihanna.
One of the games you can see in the arcades is a horse-racing game called “Roach Race,” a reference to Geralt’s horse Roach from The Witcher.
Roach stickers are also available during Photo Mode.
There is a magazine called Retro Gamer, and you can see Ciri on the cover, with The Witcher 3 being the highlighted retro game.
