New Game Plus

Unlockables

When you complete the game, you will unlock a new mission called The Queen’s Eyes, as well as the Divine tier of weapons and armor. Complete The Queen’s Eyes to unlock Way of the Strong, which is Nioh’s New Game+ mode. Only the first three missions will be available at first, but once you complete them, you’ll be able to revisit every region. New Game+ includes better rewards, Divine item drops, new costumes, and the ability to level your Guardians to level 30. Your progress from your original playthrough will carry over.

Keeper of the Flame

Easter Eggs

The trophy title “Keeper of the Flame” is most likely a nod to the Dark Souls series, especially since Dark Souls was one of the inspirations for Nioh’s gameplay style.

Change Costume/Disguise

Unlockables

After you complete the Spider Nest Castle mission in the Kinki region, you’ll be able to enter a special teahouse from the map. In this teahouse, you can use the “Transform” option to buy and wear special disguises/costumes. While wearing disguises, your gear will not change your appearance.

Change Hair and Beard

Unlockables

If you spend enough money at the blacksmith’s to earn patronage points, you’ll be able to request to talk to Tome and unlock the Barber option by spending one point. The Barber menu will allow you to change your hairstyle or beard.

Muramasa the Blacksmith (Ninja Gaiden Reference)

Easter Eggs

The blacksmith Senji Muramasa is nearly identical to the legendary blacksmith and merchant Muramasa in the Ninja Gaiden series. There are some implications that the two take place in the same universe and the character is the same person.

Hot Springs Easter Egg

Easter Eggs

If you go to the hot springs while Ginchiyo is with you and attempt to use them, she scolds you and asks if it’s “customary in your land to disrobe before a lady.”
