Although Grow: Song of the Evertree seems to be similar to games of the same type, it differs in the most important ways. Other sim-type games generally rush you between days so that you can achieve something on the next day, and that happens again and again. Grow never rushes you through, it takes you through a slower and more methodical pace, so taking your time can be to your advantage. Focus on taking your time to smell the roses and enjoy the beautiful scenery and artwork that the game has to offer. Even the transition between day and night can be a lengthy ordeal, so rushing through it might just cause you to miss out on some beautiful scenes. You are able to sleep to pass some time whenever you like, so do not focus on trying to get to a certain time, slow your pace and smell the roses.
The first real task that is given to you by Coppertop and Brook is to take care of a World Seed. A World Seed is a glowing seed that is planted somewhere on the Evertree to help it grow and become healthy. World Seeds offer a whole new area of land to explore and discover, but it is covered in the Withering. Make sure that you focus on getting rid of the Withering that has its hold on a World Seed. This is accomplished by planting new items, clearing away debris, and making sure that the land is healthy. Just remember that the World Seed is your guide, so if you ever get lost and wonder what to do next, head over to the World Seed for guidance.
Unlike most games out there, Grow does not have a Stamina or Energy limit, you can do what you want as often as you like. You are not limited by the number of tasks that you can do in a day, so relax, make some tea, and enjoy the scenery as you work your way through the day. Make sure that you are completing tasks, but also enjoy the fact that you are not limited by stamina.
Grow offers you a variety of Alchemic tools for you to use and play around with. To make your life even easier, they offer you the ability to move around the tools to organize the toolbar in the way that fits you best. So make sure that you take some time to reorganize your toolbar so that you can sit back, relax and play the game without having to think too hard. There is also a tool wheel for you to use which will make your life even easier. Grow just wants you to take some time to take in the scenery and enjoy the game, so they make things as easy as possible.
Myora is the magical essence in the world of Alaria, you will use it to create villages and plant new trees. Farming Myora is thankfully easier to farm than you might think, it just takes time and attention. To farm Myora, focus on tending to the world seed, crafting, and expanding your villages. Myora is needed for almost everything you do, so focusing on farming will be to your benefit. Take some time out of your day to focus on farming Myora and you will never run into the problem of not having it. Make it a habit that you will fall into by completing missions that will award you Myora.
One of the best things that Grow has to offer with your buildings is the fact that you can customize your buildings to make them suit your preference. There is a little sign next to the buildings that you can interact with, this will allow you to customize your building as long as you have some cosmetics available. To obtain cosmetics, you can either complete quests or you will receive Myora gifts from tending to the world seed that will drop them. So take some time to farm up cosmetics and then you can make your whole village suit your style.
Around the world of Alaria, you will find many different creatures that are wondering about, make sure to take some time out of your day to give them some attention. Giving these beautiful creatures some attention will increase your bond with them, which can lead them to befriend you and even come to live in the village that you have set up. Interacting with the creatures will allow you to feed them or rub their bellies. Befriending these creatures will give you benefits that will help you out in the long run, so make sure to take some time to keep caring for your animals, and they will take care of you. Make sure to care for the creatures that live in your village as well so that they stay as happy as you are, this includes your large fluffy friend that carries you around on their back through the wild skies.
