The name of the fishing master is Fishing Master Halmos. He will teach you all you need to know. Once you have learned you will be able to stop at various fishing spots all over the map to perfect your skills. At each fishing spot, you can see the species that you can target and how rare they are. 

The rarer the fish the more difficult it will be to catch. When you catch a fish you not only get to keep the fish but also earn fishing XP which will help you unlock special skills for fishing. If you want, you can take your fish back to your fishing master and in exchange, he will give you more XP, fish coins, or even give you better fishing gear. 

If you take to fishing mini-game you stand a chance to earn a ton of fish coins. Fish coins are coins you get from trading a fish that you have caught with your master who will give you fish coins in exchange.

With the fish coins, you can exchange them for more valuable items like near fishing gear. It Would be in your best interest to save your fish coins for when you really need them and can buy better-quality items. 

Play the Tombola mini-game. This mini-game is really fun. You need to first have a ticket to play which you can get for free from the store. You can play Tombola by speaking to a travel concierge. 

You might not win any prizes or make first place but when you do the prizes are amazing. When you play Tombola you can only draw once from each Tombola Ticket. If you have ten tickets or more you are allowed to draw another ten. If you draw a great card you stand the chance of getting labyrinth coins. If a monster appears when you draw don't be alarmed, this might be your chance to hit the jackpot.

The Dollboard is an ancient flying vehicle that you can use to travel around Astoltia. Not only is it cool but using it will also help you travel around the map much faster.
