How the Health System Works

You’ll start the game with four hearts and can eventually gain a max of seven from the shops. If you lose all your hearts, you’ll fail the level. You’ll lose hearts whenever you miss a note or press the wrong button. Fortunately, you can recover lost hearts by ensuring you don’t miss a single note.

In Hardcore mode, all your Hearts will turn into hallowed gray hearts with x’s in the middle. If you miss once in this mode, the game is over for you. However, you will be rewarded with a +0.5 score bonus, allowing you to pass the max score when you play normally and earn even more coins.

How the Scoring System Works

During the game, you will have to hit various notes to score points:

• Half note - Blue (Default key: Z)
• Whole note - Orange (Default key: X)
• Eighth note - Red (Default key: C)
• Sixteenth note - Magenta (Default key: V)

The points you earn depend on your timing tier:

• Perfect = 100 points
• Great = 50 points
• Nice = 10 points
• Meh = 5 points
• Miss = 0 points

Other systems that affect your score include:

• Score Multiplier - Score multipliers give you bonus points for each note in a song. Right now, the highest multiplier you can achieve is 2.0x.
• Ribbons - You will earn ribbons based on how well you score on a level
  • Yellow Ribbon (5 Stars) - All notes on Any Time Tier. You can miss, but your hit accuracy needs to be equal to or above 90%.
  • Blue Ribbon (6 Stars) - All Notes on Nice or Higher. You cannot miss. Your hit accuracy needs to be 100%.
  • Red Ribbon (7 Stars) - All Notes on Great or Perfect. You cannot miss. Your hit accuracy needs to be 100%.
• Accuracy Gauge - This is based on how many times you miss a note on a level, not on your timing, so it only records the misses from you hitting the wrong button, missing a note, or misclicking. If you hit a note and the timing tier was Nice, you will still have 100% accuracy. 
  The accuracy gauge is calculated based on how many notes are in the level. So if there are 120 notes in a level and you miss 24 of them, your accuracy would go down by 20%.
• Combo Levels - In order to gain combos, you cannot miss at all. There are different level combos you can achieve:
  • Level 1 combo: 10 - 49 note streak
  • Level 2 combo: 50 - 99 note streak
  • Level 3 combo: 100 - 199 note streak
  • Level 4 combo: 200 - 299 note streak
  • Level 5 combo [MAX]: 300 note streak

How the Coin System Works

You’ll start with 500 coins. This isn’t very many, but you will earn more coins the more you play. You can earn coins by playing and completing levels. Your score will determine how many coins you earn. For example, if you finish a level with a score of 32,000, you’ll earn 320 coins.

How the Shop Works

You can spend all your hard-earned coins at Jasmine’s shop. You can either spice up your gameplay with power-ups and modifiers, buy unreleased pictures, or customize the game’s music to suit your tastes.
