The Old BoyŒufs de Pâques
When you fight your way through the first level you come across this fight where you take on several enemies on a small highway. As the camera angle changes to being over your shoulder you will get a glimpse of an epic fight that occurred in the Korean film called “Old Boy”. In this movie, the main character of the movie takes on several opponents.
Unlocking the Mighty Cabot Move Focus AbilityDéverrouillables
In order to unlock this skill, you need to be on level 3 first (or the third mission). In this mission, your might will be tested. You will have to fight your way through to the third floor. If you have played the Museum level before then you will have access to the keycard that should allow you to bypass the rooms filled with enemies to the third floor.
When you get to the third floor, you will face a mini-boss with a staff. Defeat her and walk up to the green mask and choose to add the mask to the detective board. Once this is done you will earn XP that you can trade for the Mighty Calbot Move.
Focus on your DefenseIndices
While you are playing, you need to keep in mind that Sifu isn’t a “fits solve every problem” kind of game. You need to learn to strategically block and defend when you have multiple opponents. Blocking effectively can help you to deflect and capitalize on attacks and to realize a counterattack.
You can block most enemy attacks by holding L1, but you need to watch out for heavy attacks that break your guard. This will hit you back and give your opponents a chance to deal high amounts of damage to you.
Keep Unlocking SkillsIndices
As you develop in Sifu, you will come across more powerful enemies who are really tough to take down. To adapt to face these enemies, keep your focus on developing and unlocking new skills. This will make you a more formidable opponent, and as a bonus, you get to see Sifu perform some epic kung fu moves.
Take the Opportunity for TakedownsIndices
Always follow the prompt to Takedown an enemy whenever it arises, as there are several compelling reasons to do so. Firstly, executing a Takedown allows you to showcase a stylish finishing move that not only eliminates the enemy but also replenishes some of your health. This effect can be further enhanced by receiving appropriate rewards from Shrines.
Equally important is the fact that the Takedown cannot be interrupted by other enemies; instead, they will be left in awe as you deliver a powerful blow to a thug's face or give them a solid stomp. This makes Takedowns ideal for thinning out crowded encounters, and you can even swiftly sprint past other enemies to perform a Takedown before they can react.
Use Weapons when you CanIndices
In most combat areas, you'll find various weapons, and obtaining one can grant you a significant advantage. Not only do they swiftly reduce your enemies' defenses, exposing them to further attacks, but wielding a weapon also inflicts more damage compared to using just your bare hands and feet. While handheld weapons are particularly advantageous, throwables like bottles and bricks also hold their benefits.
These items can stun enemies from a distance, creating an opportunity for you to close in and follow up with a decisive attack. Lastly, it's crucial to scavenge for a weapon after clearing an area, whenever possible, as this will provide you with an immediate edge when facing the next wave of adversaries.
How to Lift RocksGuides
The default control for lifting rocks is control. If you have changed it and don’t know what too, you can reset your controls back to default and then use control from there on. Lifting rocks might seem insignificant, but for different challenges and puzzles, you would need to use this function to finish them.
Use Focus Attacks for Large EnemiesIndices
Focus attacks offer a distinct advantage since you can skip the process of breaking an enemy's defenses or wearing them down. When you have at least one bar of Focus banked and an enemy nearby, simply hold L2 and select the type of attack you wish to execute on them. These moves prove particularly effective against formidable enemy types and bosses, allowing you to swiftly wear them down.
For optimal results, we suggest unlocking the Strong Sweep Focus. This move knocks the target to the ground, setting them up for a follow-up attack while they are downed. By holding Circle, you can deliver powerful blows, and once they're back on their feet, you have the opportunity to land several rapid hits. This combination can be highly effective in dispatching tough opponents efficiently.
Don’t Rush Boss Fights, Take Your TimeIndices
Boss fights pose a significant challenge, requiring patience and composure. Attempting to rush or button mash will lead to a swift defeat, so it's essential to adopt a more strategic approach. Focus on precise blocking and timely dodging while observing the boss's attack patterns. Identifying moments to counter-attack is crucial; often, opportunities arise immediately after their attack sequences. Be prepared to retaliate with a well-timed strike following a series of successful blocks and evasions.
Boss battles typically unfold in two stages, necessitating adaptability in your tactics. As the fight progresses, the opponent may alter their strategies, so be ready to adjust your approach accordingly during the second half of the encounter. By staying calm, analyzing patterns, and being flexible in your combat style, you can improve your chances of emerging victorious in these challenging encounters.
Fall Damage can be GoodIndices
In Sifu, fall damage proves unforgiving. Even a stumble down a flight of stairs or a brief fall off a low ledge inflicts considerable harm, turning a minor combo into a fatal blow. While this can be frustrating for players, it also presents an opportunity to use it against enemies.
A clever tactic is to lure adversaries towards staircases or ledges and deliberately knock them downstairs, augmenting the impact of your strikes with additional damage. Moreover, if you manage to make enemies leap down from elevated platforms, they become momentarily vulnerable, granting you the advantage to seize control of the situation. By capitalizing on the environment, you can turn the tables in your favor and gain the upper hand during intense battles.
