This take place in chapters 2 and 3 only.

Chapter 2

You must go to the first unknown gate that you see and then take out the hood sickle and teleport through.

Chapter 3

Do the same thing, but go to the magic gate.

When you purchase the light or dark element trap, or the adventure pack, all uknown gates will show as either light or dark gates.

Also, all unknown villian's true element will appear in all chapters.

Some zones that say fire or any other element that is stronger will be replaced with light and dark.
