A new breed of Skylanders introduced with Skylanders Giants is the Lightcore Skylanders, which emit a great glow effect when near a Portal of Power. These new characters do far more than just glow though. They also come equipped with devastating new moves called Wow Pow moves. These moves are only activated once the Skylander is brought into the level for the first time, so there's a great deal of strategy regarding when and where to bring one of these Skylanders into the fray and have their destructive power unleashed on the enemy hordes.

If you're one of those masochistic gamers who just loves an intense challenge, then you'll love what Skylanders Giants has in store for you on the nightmare difficulty setting. To unlock it, simply beat the game once, using whatever difficulty you desire.

Note that to ensure you can't 'cheat', nightmare mode removes the ability to change your difficulty settings from within the options menu at any time like you could during your initial playthrough. So don't think you can switch it to easy just before that tough challenge, you're stuck grinding it all the way through this nightmare as the developers intended. Enjoy the challenge.
