Turn on PS4 remotely with your Vita

Like we’ve said before, tidbits of new information about the Playstation 4 continue to leak out primarily thanks to Sony Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida, of all people.

Yoshida-san is back on Twitter and responding to fan’s questions, with his latest tweets concerning the ability to turn on the PS4 using a PS Vita (yes, you can!) and how Sony has been, and continues to prepare for the launch of the Playstation 4 is November – with Yoshida-san admitting that nothing can be perfect.

He’s right of course, but that doesn’t mean that Sony hasn’t been doing a great job with the Playstation 4. We think they’ve handled everything since the official announcement of the console back at E3 pretty well!

Shuhei Yoshida comments on PS4 / Vita Remote Play

Are you curious how the PS Vita will work with the PS4 in remote play mode? Because if so, SCE Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida is on the case, via Twitter, and recently posted a few comments to help us better understand how the two devices will interact.

First off, responding to a question about whether PS4 games that require a special input device (such as dance games) will work with the PS Vita in remote play mode, Yoshida said unfortunately they won’t, but seemingly all others will:

Next he confirmed that there will be little lag (if any) between the two devices:

Oh, and if you think that this new feature might be require a whole heap of new software for your Vita (and potentially a bigger memory card) don’t worry – that won’t be an issue! This is particularly good to know given how expensive the things are at the moment…

With rumors of a potential Playstation 4 / PS Vita bundle, is this doing anything to make you more inclined to purchase Vita along with your PS4 console?

PS4 and Vita bundle rumored for $500

August 6, 2013 by Cheats.co Staff - 1 Comment

Would you pay $500 for a Playstation 4 console bundled with a PS Vita?

According to Inside Gaming Daily, a “well-placed anonymous source” has advised them that such a console package could become available by the end of the year.

Of course Sony has not said anything official on the matter, and in fact it’s the first time the rumor has come to light at all.

That said, the PS Vita can be integrated with PS4 – you’ll be able to use it to stream all your PS4 games using Remote Play and also in other instances where a “second screen” might be required or desirable for whatever title it is you’re playing.

If the rumor is true, you’d save around $150 by virtue of purchasing the console bundle. Depending on the practical extent of the integration between the two (to be assessed once we get them in our hands!), it could be a tempting deal for a lot of people.
