Monopoly Madness can be played solo or with friends through Local Play or with other players Online. There are three gameplay options accessible for Local Play: 

• Story Mode: There is competition as you try to take over the town now that Mr. Monopoly is on vacation. As you battle against a maximum of 5 opponents, your progress will unlock new maps with increasing difficulty levels. However, playing in the story mode is more restricted, requiring you to hoard money, prioritize the more expensive (and uncommon) Hotels, or grab an entire row of buildings rather than just a few scattered ones.
• Free-For-All mode: Compete against your friends or the AI to be the next Mr. Monopoly. Play in Classic, where you collect as many properties and upgrades as possible in 10 minutes, or create your own set of rules in Custom. In either match, you can custom-set the AI's difficulty. You can also play against your friends online.
• Teams mode: Play as a team in Classic or with your custom set of rules to destroy your opponents. You can also play this online.
