You can snag a legendary Excalibur-style blade early with smart routing and some clean climbs. It’s tucked in a tricky spot that rewards:

Missable if you mainline the story, so keep your eyes open while exploring.

East of the monastery, explore the viaduct with shipping containers and a broken train. Look for “9¾” on brickwork. Now the fun part:

• Jump through the marked bricks to reach blocky, Minecraft-like rooms
• Find a golden train, golden tickets, and the Last Hand of GloVa (a top-tier consumable/weapon)

Magic, meet voxels.

Find a small home east of the cement gardens with a box that refuses to open… until you hit it exactly 77 times. Your prize:

• Yes, it’s musical. Yes, it’s a series staple. Yes, it still slaps.

Follow the 9¾ trail and you’ll dive deeper into voxel-styled tunnels:

• Multiple rooms with breakable block barriers

Bring a strong weapon and a curious mind.

Some axes, bats, and similar weapons upgrade to fixed damage values instead of scaling with your level. The UV flashlight can show negative stats after upgrades too.

There’s a popular XP exploit that lets you level rapidly if you follow a specific loop and triggers.

Hit Survival Sense constantly. The world’s cluttered and valuable items blend into the scenery.

• Saves you from leaving rare mats behind

Melee tools break and repairs are limited. Plan around it.

• Carry multiple repaired weapons
• Swap early if a fight drags on — don’t get stuck mid-swing with a snapped blade
• Firearms/bows don’t need repairs, but ammo’s scarce — treat them like boss tools, not lawnmowers

Night activities award 2x XP. Worth it if you’re careful.

• Plot routes that chain safe houses for quick bailouts
• The moment a Volatile aggroes, break line of sight and book it
• Farm objectives and kills in controlled loops to level fast

There are 30 trophies plus Platinum, split across story, combat, collectibles, and exploration.

• Story: escape the Baron’s bunker, save Town Hall survivors, uncover sabotage, survive test fields, capture the Beast, finish the campaign
• Combat grinds: 500 vehicle kills, 112 flamethrower kills, 666 beast kills, 50 weapon repairs, and Volatile kills (soften with UV, finish hard)
• Collectibles: all Castor Woods Beavers, every Hidden Truths with Spark episode, all Fischer clippings, and St. Valentine’s Asylum secrets

Melee weapons only get 3–4 repairs (more on high tiers). Decide if a favorite is worth the mats.

• Farm scrap: dismantle junk, clear dark zones, loot buildings, break down spare weapons
• Upgrades that add durability or damage extend a weapon’s useful life
• Keep a reserve of mats so an untimely break doesn’t end a mission

• Start by checking the rooftop body opposite your spawn to trigger a cutscene
• Use Survivor Sense to follow yellow footprints into a building; clear the zombies
• Head to the northern explosion site, investigate burning cars and fallen Barons
• Enter the purple-lit truck, loot the left-side body for a walkie — you’ll get a church location
• Stick to rooftops and reach the purple-lit church doors (front’s locked)
• Go down the stairs opposite the doors, enter the lower level
• Midway through, turn right and crawl through the hole in the wall
