On the third invite, join them. Then, have your friend go into a private match of the outbreak game, wait for a few seconds, and join back. Change the map to global or any outbreak map, select Team Deathmatch, and start the match. Accept the lobby error, leave the party, and you're good to go. Everything, including camos, attachments, levels, and more, will be saved.
