First of all, it makes finding this easter egg a lot easier if you have the upgrade that allows you to fly further. The easiest way to get to these barrels is to jump and hover to and from the roots that are sticking out of the water. Once near the barrels, you will notice a gap between them that you can walkthrough. If you walk through this gap, you will find a few puddles on the ground.
