At one point, Infinite refers to Sonic as a rat, and Sonic corrects him on his species. This was previously done in Sonic and the Secret Rings, where the Erazor Djinn repeatedly refers to Sonic as a rat.

In the official “Come Join the Eggman Empire!” promotional video for Sonic Forces, Infinite appears at the end of the video when the narrator says “the possibilities are infinite,” serving as a pun on his name.
