In Episode 5, when Petra asks “Cave spiders, why did it have to be cave spiders?” this is a reference to the famous “Snakes, why did it have to be snakes?” quote from Indiana Jones.
If you attempt to craft a stone and stick into a lever, you will be told it won’t help you in a fight and that it seems like it’s your first time crafting. You can also craft a fishing rod to disable the traps instead of a bow.
The in-game convention Endercon is a reference to the real-world MineCon, a Minecraft-focused convention.
In Boom Town in Episode 2, Axel is hit in the knee with an arrow and Jesse can be injured in the same way. This is a reference to the popular “arrow in the knee” meme that came from a quote in Skyrim.
The book found in Ivor’s Cottage in Episode 4, “How to Train Your Slime,” might be a reference to the series “How to Train your Dragon.”
One of Jesse’s dialogue options when encountering the Blaze Rods in Episode 5 is to call them “Aiden and the Pussycats,” a nod to the series and movie Josie and the Pussycats.
The Tri-Block in Episode 6 is a reference to the Tri-Wizard Tournament in the Harry Potter series.
The robots Harry and Ron in Episode 7 are most likely references to Harry and Ron from the Harry Potter series, as well.
A few quotes in Episode 8 may be references to the game Undertale, especially Nell’s line, “That stare fills me with determination.”
