PC Cheats You'll Actually Use: Trainers, Mods, and a Console Switch

Cheats

If you're playing solo on PC and want to bend the rules a bit, there are a few solid options—just back up your saves first and expect breaks after patches.

  • FLiNG Trainer: A kitchen-sink trainer with 30+ toggles. Think infinite health/Ancient Magic, one-hit kills, zero-cost or money-generating purchases, instant cooldowns, stealth, plus QoL like instant plant growth, no-brew requirements, and unlock all Floo Flames.
  • WeMod: Similar features, but with a super clean interface and hotkeys that are easy to remember. It's frequently updated, so it tends to keep pace with patches.
  • UETools Mod: Restores the developer console and free camera. Great for screenshots, testing, or tinkering with Unreal Engine console variables. Install via the game's Paks folder.

Tips:

  • Keep trainers offline when possible and update/disable them after big patches.
  • Some options can softlock quests or desync timers. Toggle sparingly during story beats.

Polyjuice Potion

Easter Eggs

You can find the location of the second floor girls bathroom, where Harry, Ron and Hermione use the Polyjuice Potion in the Chamber of Secrets movie. Although you can't actually make this potion in the game, you will be able to use it during Niamh Fitzgerlad's questline.

The Letter

Easter Eggs

After achieving entry to Slytherin's Scriptorium, you can find a letter written by Salazar addressing the basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets film. "I shall place the creature into a deep sleep in its chamber until it can be awakened by one who shares my views [...] one who shall rid the school of [Muggle-borns]," the letter reads.

Ominis Gaunt

Easter Eggs

Ominis Gaunt is a main character in Hogwarts Legacy who you'll become friends with during Sebastian Sallow's "In the Shadows" questline. He is an immediate descendent of Salazar Slytherin, and his family is connected to a long line of pure-bloods, as well as his presumed father Marvolo Gaunt (Lord Voldemort's grandfather!) On that note, you'll hear Ominis Gaunt speak Parseltongue to open one of the doors that lead to Salazar Slytherin's Sciptorium in Hogwarts Legacy. This is, of course, yet another reference to Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Keep in mind this is when we first learn about this enigmatic snake language.

MrAlanC helps you with the Ominis Gaunt character.

Chamber of Secrets

Easter Eggs

The location of the Chamber of Secrets entrance can be discovered in the Slytherin girl's bathroom of Hogwarts Legacy.  Another thing is that , if you pay special attention to one of the facets right across from the bathrooms, you'll detect an engraving of a snake, which requires someone to speak in Parseltongue in order to open the Chamber of Secrets.

ArgleBargle goes into detail on how to unlock the Chamber of Secrets.

Stags by the Great Lake: a quiet wink at Harry's Patronus

Easter Eggs

Wander to the Great Lake and you'll hear your character remark there are "lots of stags here." It's a soft nod to Harry's stag Patronus (and James's Animagus), plus a location tie-in to that famous moment by the lake. Not flashy—just the kind of environmental storytelling that rewards paying attention.

Ron Weasley Cameos You'll Actually Notice

Easter Eggs

Ron's fingerprints are everywhere if you know where to look:

  • Hospital Wing: A student vomiting slugs—yep, that spell backfire.
  • Transfiguration classroom: The rat-cup icon and imagery poke fun at Ron's, uh, “creative” attempt.
  • “Follow the Butterflies” quest: A cheeky inversion of Ron's “Why spiders?” line that still gets a smirk from me.

Wielding the Deathly Hallows in the Third Keeper Trial

Easter Eggs

The Third Keeper Trial goes full storybook—visually echoing the Deathly Hallows film sequence—and lets you briefly use all three Hallows: the Elder Wand, Resurrection Stone, and Invisibility Cloak. You can't bring them back to the open world, but the presentation is gorgeous and the gameplay twist is a standout for series fans.

Spotting Sirius: The Grim, the Dog Star, and sly nods to a future Marauder

Easter Eggs

There's a wonderfully moody black wolf named "the Grim" lurking in a cave above Hogsmeade—an obvious wink to Sirius Black's Animagus form and the folklore omen we hear about later in the timeline. Astronomy lessons add another layer: Sirius is the Dog Star, brightest in Canis Major, which lines up perfectly with Sirius's iconic transformation. It's subtle, clever, and feels right at home centuries before Harry shows up.

Infinite galleons via Mooncalf respawns

Glitches

If you're okay with an exploit, the Mooncalf den loop is the money printer.

  • What you need: Finish "The Elf, Nab-Sack, and the Loom" for the Nab-Sack and Vivarium.
  • Loop:
    • Fast travel to the Mooncalf den near Hogsmeade's Floo.
    • Levioso Mooncalves to stop their escape, then bag them.
    • Sell at Brood and Peck (each 120 g; eight per cycle = 960 g).
    • Open the map and Wait twice to cycle 48 hours and respawn.
  • Why it's best: Dense spawns, near a Floo, short sell run. About 12,000 g/hour if you keep it tight.
  • Alternatives: Jobberknolls and Puffskeins work, but slower due to travel and fewer spawns.

Under the map: broom-phasing and secret sightseeing

Glitches

With the right angle and a broom, you can slip beneath the world and peek into places you're not meant to be.

  • Setup: Start from Lower Hogsfield Floo, bring a broom, and manual save often.
  • Execution: Nudge into specific cliff faces or castle seams at precise angles/altitudes until collision fails. It's finicky—expect retries.
  • What you can reach: Even the house common rooms (routes vary in difficulty; Gryffindor is easiest, Slytherin trickiest).
  • Safety tips: Avoid opening the map underground, and reload from the main menu if you get stuck. If you start falling, summon the broom and try to climb out.
  • Risk: Possible crashes and progress loss—back up saves before experimenting.

Field Guide Page counter weirdness and how to keep your sanity

Glitches

Page tracking can look “done” in one menu and “incomplete” on the map. You're not losing it—the game counts page types differently.

  • Two systems, one headache: The 150-page collection challenge tracks Revelio-only pages. Regional maps list all page types (flying pages, Moth Mirrors, Levioso statues, braziers, etc.).
  • Misattribution happens: Some pages count toward a different wing/region than where you found them.
  • Fix attempts:
    • Revisit areas with missing counts and spam Revelio.
    • Manual save before grabs; if a page doesn't register, reload or restart to menu.
  • Achievements: Most platforms still award completion if you've hit the right totals across categories. There are more than 236 pages in the game, so you've got buffer room.
  • Best practice: Track by Floo Flames and use a checklist for each page type to dodge the UI confusion.

Short on galleons?

Hints

I'm sure you're tempted to consider hitting a key or entering a command to grant yourself extra galleons to purchase all the ingredients or gear. Unfortunately, Hogwarts Legacy appears to have been released without any official support for cheats or console commands. Much like many other modern games.

Of course, this means that we're all stuck playing the game as designed, which is actually anything but dull and does offer a good amount of fun and adventure.

But, you do have the choice to use player-made mods if you want to speed up or simplify some processes.

If you frequently find yourself short on galleons, this mod is basically a save file that comes with 1 billion of the shiny coins. You, unfortunately, have to give up your character, but can then buy lots of things without worrying about your finances.

Lacking lethality? Another Hogwarts Legacy cheat mod vastly decreases the cooldown of the Avada Kedavra spell, increasing the rate at which you can turn enemies into cadavers

While yet another Hogwarts Legacy cheat version makes the arithmancy puzzles easier to answer by adding numbers to their symbols, the Alohomora mod is ideal for collectors who want to have a lot of things unlocked but would prefer to forgo the time-consuming process attaining them requires.

Spilled Milk

Hints

Use Flipendo ten times to tip one or more cows.

As you move through the story, Flipendo becomes accessible through one of Professor Garlick's assignments. There will be cows scattered throughout, but you can use the location that is near Hogsmeade's northeast corner and a magical beast spawn. Three cows are lazing around in a field.

The Root of the Problem

Hints

Stun 10 different enemies using a Mandrake

Mandrake seeds can be purchased from Dogweed and Deathcap (North Hogsmeade, past a bridge), and they can be planted at the Greenhouse or the Room of Requirement (small pot required). Or, you could just buy a Mandrake from one of the many sellers. When you have Mandrakes, put them on your item wheel and utilize them to combat 10 foes (cumulative)

Fast Galleons without grinding yourself into dust

Hints

A few clean ways to fill your coin purse, no save scumming needed.

  • Mooncalf catching loop: After you get the Nab-Sack and a Vivarium, farm the Mooncalf den near Hogsmeade. Each sells for 120 galleons at Brood and Peck. Use Wait to cycle time and respawn dens for a reliable loop.
  • Sell excess gear: You keep the transmog appearance forever once picked up, so sell everything you don't use. Merlin Trials = more inventory = fewer vendor runs.
  • Ask for more: Many side quests let you request extra payment with zero downside.
  • Eye Chests: Sneak with Disillusionment and snag them for a fat payout—each is one-time, so sweep towns thoroughly early.
Practical money routes, from beast farming to vendor smart-selling, pushing well over 12k galleons per hour.

Combat that clicks: timing, counters, and crowd control

Hints

Master the rhythm first, the damage second.

  • Protego + Stupefy: Orange telegraphs? Block with Protego for a free Stupefy counter. Red telegraphs? Dodge. Perfect blocks build Ancient Magic fast.
  • Don't spam spells: Weave basic casts between cooldowns. The 4-hit basic combo hits harder than it looks and keeps pressure up.
  • Fight the room, not just the enemy: Keep crowds in front of you and use walls to avoid getting flanked. A little positioning makes every fight easier.
  • Ancient Magic = delete key: Use throws and strikes to break colored shields and remove high-threats (Assassins, Rangers) instantly.

Field Guide Pages: a clean route to 236

Hints

If you're gunning for 100%, plan ahead and track smart.

  • Spam Revelio: The audio ping gets louder near pages; the visual pulse reveals hidden ones. Especially clutch inside Hogwarts.
  • Spell-specific triggers:
    • Accio for flying pages
    • Incendio/Confringo on braziers, then Accio
    • Levioso on statues with orbs
  • Moth Mirrors: Cast Lumos, find the moth nearby, and guide it home for a guaranteed page.
  • Locks: Alohomora Lv 2/3 needs Demiguise Statues, so plan routes around your current lock level.
  • Organize by Floo Flames: Regional labels can be misleading. Use nearby Floo points as your mental checklist, not the in-game region names.
