Unlocking Debug Mode: Console Commands That Supercharge Survival
CheatsWant to poke under Green Hell’s hood? Enable the built-in debug mode and you’ll get a pile of dev tools and cheats.
How to enable:
- Steam > Green Hell > Properties > Local Files > Browse
- Go to GH_Data/Resources
- Create a folder named Scripts, and inside it another called Debug
- In Debug, create an empty text file named DEBUG (no extension)
Handy keys and what they do:
- F1–F9: Open different debug menus (items, AI, skills, wounds, scenarios, logs, etc.)
- NUMPAD + / -: Nudge time forward or back by 1 hour
- NUMPAD ENTER: Skip ahead 10 hours
- NUMPAD /: Speed up the game; NUMLOCK toggles adjustments
- Left CTRL + M: God mode (health/stamina don’t drop)
- Left CTRL + U: Fill your notebook with all recipes/info
- Left CTRL: Show coordinates; Left CTRL + O: Detailed stats
- = (equals): Toggle rain
- Right ALT + K: Kill all nearby creatures
- Left ALT + L: Deal 10 damage to all creatures

- NUMPAD 0–3: Spawn specific creatures in different states
- Left ALT + `: Instantly kill yourself
- Left ALT + Left SHIFT + `: Take 25 damage
- BACKSPACE: Take 30 “claw” damage
Tip: Back up your saves. Debug mode can bork a run if you get too spicy.
Trainers & Mods: Make the Jungle Play Nice (For Once)
CheatsIf you want a more sandboxy experience, trainers can soften Green Hell’s sharp edges. Use responsibly and stick to single-player.
WeMod highlights:
- Unlimited health, stamina, energy, sanity, nutrition (fats/carbs/proteins), oxygen
- No thirst or dirtiness, super speed, item durability lock, easier construction
- Auto-detects your game version and updates frequently
Cheat Engine (CE) tables:
- Infinite health/stamina/energy/hydration/oxygen
- Game speed, gravity tweaks, crit/healing tuning, run speed, carry weight
- Durability and fire duration control, notebook unlocks, super jump, and more
- Setup: Install CE, load the table (CT), select the Green Hell process, tick what you need
Notes:
- Back up saves.
- Expect breakage after game updates until trainers catch up.
Say Hello to “Wilson”: The Cast Away Volleyball
Easter EggsYes, Green Hell tips its hat to Cast Away. You can find a volleyball companion—officially “William,” but let’s be honest, it’s Wilson.
Where to find:
- 55 W, 27 S on the first map
- Head west from the starter area toward the coastline where the first black caiman hangs out
- At the far end near a big tree, slip into the water and weave around rocks—it’s tucked right there
Why bother?
- It’s a fun base trinket and a perfect mood piece for jungle solitude
- The caiman patrols that shore, so move carefully and keep your ears open
“Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” Package Locations
Easter EggsThree hidden packages unlock the “Do you want to build a snowman?” achievement. Just approach and observe each one.
The three spots:
- Drug Factory (50 W, 27 S): From the front, climb the planks, turn right, pass the microwave—on a table to your right.
- Cave SW of Drug Factory (52 W, 29 S): Enter, turn right, follow the path to a junction, take the left tunnel.
- Airport (29 W, 23 S): Before the main radio room, check the shack to the right of the entrance.
Tip: Grab these while passing through story beats—you’ll save a ton of time.
Survival Fundamentals I Wish I Knew Sooner
HintsGreen Hell punishes forgetfulness. These habits will save your run.
- Carry fire starters: Sticks are common; tinder isn’t. Stock bird nests when you see them. Dried leaves work too—prep them early.
- Leech patrol: Inspect arms/legs often, especially after wading or bushwhacking. Keep the inspection UI open long enough to spot worms/leeches.
- Trust your ears: Chants (tribe), rumbles (big cats), skitters/hisses (spiders, snakes). Audio warnings beat jump scares.
- Harvest the sky: It rains 2–3 times a day. Leave coconut bowls, pots, and turtle shells out for free clean water.
- Don’t sleep bare ground: You’ll wake up with worms. Build even a basic raised bed ASAP.
Weapons & Combat: From Stick Pokes to Jaguar Headshots
HintsArm yourself fast—everything out there bites back.
- First craft: A Weak Spear (long stick) beats empty hands and lets you spearfish early.
- Headshots = instant kills: Bows, thrown spears, even improvised stuff—land it on the head and it’s lights out for cats, tribesmen, and more.
- Durability matters: Keep backup tools or mats for repairs. Upgrade to obsidian and later metal when you can.
- Know your prey: Watch patrol routes and tells. Patience turns risky hunts into guaranteed meals.
- Practice throws: Learn the arc and release distance; you’ll save ammo and your hide.
Armor 101: Every Set and When to Use It
HintsArmor buys you mistakes. Start cheap, scale up.
- Leaf Armor: Banana leaves + rope. Super basic, super fast.
- Stick Armor: 3 sticks + 2 rope. Small upgrade, easy mats.
- Bamboo Armor: 3 bamboo sticks + banana leaf + rope. Farm bamboo forests; split big logs into sticks.
- Bone Armor: Bones + banana leaf + rope. Hunt, harvest properly, then craft—nice protection bump.
- Armadillo Armor: Armadillo shell + leaf + rope. Excellent defense if you bag one.
- Metal Armor: The endgame set. Smelt ore in a forge, cast metal pieces with molds, then combine 3 metal casts + leaf + rope per armor piece.
Tips:
- Harvest banana leaf plants, not fruit-bearing trees, so you don’t nuke your food supply.
- Craft from the right-click menu to quickly assemble parts.
Story Achievements: Endings, Challenges, and Smart Unlocks
GuidesA few quick wins and some long hauls across Story Mode.
- You are not prepared: Finish the tutorial.
- Soul Vine: Drink Ayahuasca for the first time.
- It’s all over, again / Just, wait for me...: Bad and good endings respectively.
- Greedy: Pick up the gold sack (same building as the grappling hook) and keep it in your backpack until credits roll—any ending works.
- Green Hell (difficulty): Beat Story on the highest difficulty with permadeath and no saves. Plan a tight route and minimize combat.
- Welcome to the jungle / I made it: Survive time milestones. On harder settings, hydration is king.
- Pacifist: Survive 10 days on King of the Jungle without traps or kills. Stay watered; you can limp by with low nutrition if you don’t pick fights.
Explorer’s Hit List: Wilson, Snowmen, Maps, and More
GuidesCollectibles and exploration goals that pair nicely with a long walk.
- Casted Far Away: Find Wilson at 55 W, 27 S near the caiman coast.
- Do you want to play with a snowman?: Grab three packages at 50 W, 27 S, 52 W, 29 S, and 29 W, 23 S.
- Cartographer: Unlock 60 locations on the map in Story/Survival. Sweep edges and revisit key hubs after story beats.
- Librarian: Read 50 collectibles in Story. Check camps, labs, and side shacks.
- Globetrotter: Travel 64 km total. Combine with mapping runs to make it painless.
Metalwork Made Easy: Forge, Molds, and High-End Gear
GuidesOnce you’re stable, move into metal—the power spike is real.
Setup:
- Gather clay for the forge, ore for metal.
- Build the forge, then smelt ore into workable metal.
Core recipes:
- Arrow molds: Cast to get 3 metal arrowheads per pour.
- Metal axe: Create a metal head via mold, then combine with a stick and rope.
- Pickaxe: Stick + metal knife blade + rope—your mining workhorse.
- Metal spear: Shaft + metal spearhead + rope for top-tier hunting.
- Metal armor: Each piece = 3 metal casts + rope + banana leaf. Full set needs 12 casts, 4 rope, 4 leaves.
Pro tips:
- Metal arrows use 2 feathers + rope + metal head—big damage with reliable headshots.
- Batch-smelt to save fuel/time, and keep molds cycling so you’re never waiting on casts.
Beating “Green Hell” Difficulty: A Safe, Fast Story Route
GuidesPermadeath means efficiency. Stick to this path and keep moving.
- Prep: Skip tutorial. Craft basics (spear, axe, bandages, water containers).
- 1) Abandoned Tribal Settlement (46 W, 26 S): First Ayahuasca brew.
- 2) Jeep (44 W, 17 S): Grab the gas can.
- 3) Elevator Cave (41 W, 18 S): Ride down to the Gold Mine; get grappling hook and gold bag (keep it if aiming for Greedy).
- 4) Grapple point (43 W, 25 S): Reach brew #2 at 42 W, 26 S.
- 5) Anaconda Island (35 W, 26 S): Opens eastward to brew #3.
- 6) Airport (29 W, 22 S): Fix radio with cables, loot the key, grab climbing gear.
- 7) East path (27 W, 25 S): Pick up diving gear; follow underwater cables to Swamps.
- 8) Swamps (25 W, 31 S): Brew #4.
- 9) Large Native Settlement (32 W, 35 S): Final brew and the finish line.
Tips:
- Bamboo spears are quick, accurate, and disposable.
- Avoid unnecessary fights; hydration and clean sleep matter more than a full belly on this mode.
