Gear matters, and there’s a lot of it. Here’s how to think about the loot game.

• Rings: 100+ total in tiers (Common, Uncommon, Rare, Legendary). You can equip two. Bonuses often come with trade‑offs (damage vs. defense, mobility, etc.).
• Flavor by metal:
• Bronze: speed and torch range lean.
• Copper: balanced defense/mobility mixes.
• Iron: heavier on raw defense.
• Weakened variants: Early “weakened” rings give similar perks with lighter numbers and/or penalties. Good stepping stones before upgrades.
• Challenge exclusives: Some rings unlock from specific tomb challenges (e.g., Pyramid of Osiris, Tomb of the Torturer). Worth chasing if you want niche resistances.
• Amulets: Build power by grabbing gems and dealing damage. Activate to grant team-wide buffs until the wearer takes a hit. In 4‑player co‑op, different amulets can stack if multiple players manage to stay unhurt.
• DLC outfits: Cosmetic packs (like Hitman skins with Silverballers) change the look, not the numbers.

There’s a cheeky crossover wink early on.

• Where to look: In the opening Pyramid of Osiris tomb, grab your first gun from a skeleton rocking an outfit suspiciously similar to Nathan Drake’s.
• Why it’s great: It’s Crystal Dynamics having a laugh about the Lara/Drake rivalry. Lara gets the gear; Drake… well, he’s not using it anymore.

A few quirks still linger, especially online.

• Co‑op desync: Puzzles or bombs appear active for one player and not the other. Try giving the host control of the Staff of Osiris and re‑attempt. Not perfect, but it helps.
• Item respawns/persistence: Gems or bags may reappear or fail to register. If progress stalls, a checkpoint reload or restart of the session usually clears it.
• Save/stat weirdness: Some players have seen post‑patch stat corruption. Back up your save files periodically.
• Performance on newer GPUs: Occasional stutters/crashes on certain drivers. Updating or rolling back GPU drivers has helped more than tweaking in‑game settings.

You can get the "Couch Party" trophy/achievement alone, as long as you have four controllers. Play through any tomb except the challenge tombs. Once you're getting close to the tomb's end, open the menu and change your game to a four-player local multiplayer game. Choose "Continue," and then load the other three characters at the last checkpoint. As long as one player makes it to the end and the others either make it or die, you'll earn "Couch Party."

Temple of Osiris fights are fast and messy unless you set the pace.

• Osiris glyphs = interactables: If it glows or bears glyphs, your Staff of Osiris probably manipulates it. Raise, lower, or move to make paths.
• Reload is your friend: Missed a jump or lost your multiplier? Pause > Reload Checkpoint. No score penalty; it simply resets you to try again.
• Guard the 4x: Your score multiplier is everything. If you eat a hit, consider reloading instead of pushing through. High scores depend on a clean run.

Co‑op is part cooperation, part “my gems now.”

• Positioning wins: More players = more enemies = more gems. Stick to edges where drops land, and don’t stray from the group during big gem explosions.
• Chest strategy: Start with 100‑gem chests until they stop giving new items, then move to 250‑gem, then higher. This path is the most efficient for filling out your collection and reliably hitting Legendaries with fewer wasted gems.

Know the rules and you’ll game the scoreboard.

• Multiplier math: Build to 4x by chaining kills and gem pickups without taking damage. One hit can drop it, so prioritize survival over speed when you’re near gold.
• Gold targets vary: Break everything breakable, light every brazier, clear every enemy, and hoover up gems. It adds up fast.
• Time challenges: Memorize puzzle solutions and sprint past non‑essential fights. Most tomb timers are lenient once you know the route.
• Community/combat challenges: Weekly community goals hand out freebies when completed; overworld combat arenas are great for gem farming and kill-count tasks.
