Unlocking Tech Hunter and Mediator (Plus What They're Good At)

Freischaltbar

How to expand your roster:

Tech Hunter:

  • Beat the first Siren with Hybrid at 100% difficulty.
  • At the Heart of Time, choose to continue the run.
  • Return to Aurora and unlock.
  • Playstyle: Shotgun, pellet overlap, massive close-range burst. Positioning is everything.

Mediator:

  • Clear a total of 60 locations across all runs.
  • Cumulative unlock—just keep playing.
  • Brings unique mechanics that reward thoughtful setups.

Why this order works:

  • Hybrid teaches fundamentals with safety nets.
  • Tech Hunter pushes positioning discipline and rewardingly high-risk damage.
  • Mediator arrives as a milestone for consistent play.

Artifact Unlocks and Triads: From Basics to Broken (in a Good Way)

Freischaltbar

The artifact system is the backbone of progression: 81 artifacts across 31 groups.

How unlocking works:

  • 5 groups are available from the start; 26 require achievements to reveal.
  • After you unlock a group, you still need to buy artifacts with Omni Stones.
  • Categories include: Modifier, Structure Change, Amulet, Rune of Creation, Cursed Signature.

Smart progression:

  • Complete achievements to open groups, then invest Omni Stones to fill out your pool.
  • Mid-run, keep your pool clean with ban slots so your drops stay on-theme.

Power plays:

  • Triads supercharge builds by fusing artifacts.
  • Early on, use Fractals as one-time shields; later smelt them for 10 scrap each and build Triad of Fractal.
  • Transform good pieces into great ones with Merchant’s Codex and Manifold Key.

Triads worth chasing:

  • Triad of Status: Spreads status effects like wildfire.
  • Triad of Severance: Push-damage shenanigans that delete packs.
  • Triad of Bloodshed: Bleed stacks that spiral out of control.

Fractal Resurrection Not Working in Co‑op

Fehler

There's a co‑op bug where Fractal fails to resurrect anyone—host or partner. It's consistent across sessions, so don't plan your run around it.

What to do instead:

  • Shift to damage mitigation (shields, damage reduction, mobility).
  • Prioritize sustain over “one extra life” until a fix lands.
  • Communicate expectations with your co‑op buddy so deaths don't end surprise runs.

Boss Drops Sometimes Spawn Out of Reach

Fehler

Occasionally, boss rewards spawn inside walls, under floors, or at unreachable heights. It's inconsistent and tied to where the boss dies relative to terrain.

How to cope:

  • Try to finish bosses in open areas to reduce risk—but it's not foolproof.
  • If it happens, there's no reliable retrieval. Adjust your plan knowing you're down a reward.
  • This can also affect normal mobs, but losing boss drops feels worst, so plan mental backups for key builds.

“The Ultimate Question of Life” Won't Pop in Arena

Fehler

Dying at exactly 42:00 unlocks the achievement—unless you're in Arena, where it currently doesn't register.

Workaround:

  • Do it in campaign mode with a visible timer.
  • Stall safely near the mark, then “oops” at 42:00. Don't cut it too fine; server and UI delays can rob you.
  • Arena fans will need one detour run for this one.

Who to Pick First (and How to Scale) in Gatekeeper

Hinweise

If you're just starting, play Hybrid. The self-revive bails you out while you learn boss patterns, and its three core skills cover most situations: evasion, AoE, and smart repositioning. Scale damage, mobility, and speed first.

Other standout picks:

  • Bastion: Stun specialist. Pairs beautifully with artifacts that grant crit vs. stunned targets. With repeat-triggering secondaries, you can wipe packs. The dash lets you dive in, stun everything, then nuke.
  • Echo: The movement king. Fire a disc, then teleport to it to “surf” through fights and chunk elites. The tuning fork charges enemies with resonance—upgrade it and your primary for hilarious burst that melts bosses.

Resource and pacing tips:

  • Grab Prisms aggressively in Emporiums; on Quiet Bay, the Merchant’s Altar converts Omni-Stones into late-game power.
  • Use your ban slots (up to 10 once unlocked) to prune bad artifacts from the pool so late stages feed you only the good stuff.
  • Keep mobility high; the best defense is not being there.

Achievement Gameplan: Fast Picks and Reliable Setups

Leitfäden

Knock out these with minimal fuss:

  • Strike: Kill 10 enemies with a single hit. Use Hybrid’s Whisper upgraded for wide radius and damage. Enhancer Artifacts for extra charges help.
  • Race Against Time: Clear a “Kill them all” mission in 100 seconds. Easiest on the lowest difficulty or with multiple players. Solo? Build heavy AoE.
  • Siren Hunter: Defeat a Siren without taking damage from it. Do it in Arena for plentiful artifacts; the Tarra variant is usually safer.
  • Fail at the Start: Die in the first location. Pair with Deadly Choice by standing still during artifact selection.
  • Survivor: Finish the first planet without evolving your character. Rely on strong artifacts; avoid upgrades.
  • Collector: Get 20+ copies of the same artifact. Use late-run forges so you don't cripple your mid-game.
  • Dance of the Fiery Bones: Kill 25 Hermits before they open. You'll need big up-front damage and clean timing.
  • Pyromancer: Ignite 20+ enemies at once. Try Arena with Hybrid/Mediator/Nidum, and stack extra skill charges.
  • Untouchable: Clear a location with no health or shield damage. Prioritize mobility and enemy control.
  • Unstoppable: Beat a planet while always moving. You can still pick up items and interact—just never stop walking.
  • Mountain: Reach 500 HP. Stack health scaling artifacts and look for triads that multiply max health gains.
