Ever since Modern Warfare 3, many Call of Duty fans have used Activision’s online service, Call of Duty Elite, to track their statistics, use social features, and otherwise connect with other players. That is about to end.

With the release of Call of Duty: Ghosts, Activision implemented the Call of Duty App instead, and has decided to shut down Call of Duty Elite. This Friday, February 28, at about 10 AM PST, the service will cease to function.

If you’ve used Call of Duty Elite at all this year, it can still give you one final bonus. Anyone who has logged in at least once since January 1, 2014 will get two hours of Double XP. Founding Members will be able to keep their emblem, as well.

You can check out Activision’s full FAQ for any additional questions you might have.

As wonderful as advancing technology is, it’s always a little sad to see an old service shut down in favor of something new. Have you used Call of Duty Elite? Are you disappointed to see it go, or are you excited to use the Call of Duty App instead?
