  2. Use the flame ability to break cobwebs and clear your path.
  3. Proceed through the door that links the two worlds.
  4. Engage in a boss battle to unlock the upgrade.

The Flame Ability Upgrade grants additional burn damage to enemies over time, making it a powerful tool throughout the game.

Bomb Spell Ability Upgrade

The second upgrade is the Bomb Spell Ability Upgrade. To acquire it, follow these steps:

  1. Return to the Lost Cemetery after obtaining the bomb spell ability.
  2. Climb the ladder and continue towards the right-hand side, heading towards the elevator used to access the Overgrown Ruins.
  3. Use the bomb spell on a specific door to gain entry.
  4. Engage in another boss battle to unlock the upgrade.

With this upgrade, the bomb will no longer damage you, allowing for safer close combat situations.

Arrow Upgrade

The third and fourth upgrades are unlocked once you obtain the hook shot in the castle. The first of these upgrades is the Arrow Upgrade. To get it, follow these steps:

  1. Spawn in the Lost Cemetery and use the flame spell to access the dungeon.
  2. Navigate through the spider pit and light the required urns.

With this upgrade, you can charge your arrow for more damage, making ranged attacks more powerful.

Hook Shot Ability Upgrade

The final upgrade is the Hook Shot Ability Upgrade. To get it, follow these steps:

  1. Travel to the Stranded Sailor from the Lost Cemetery by using the flame spell to connect.
  2. Navigate through the cave using the hook shot to access the boss battle.

How to Locate the Great Sword

Guides

Locating the Great Sword
  1. Spawn into the zone and cross the docks to find the great sword locked behind a gate.
  2. The first clue gives you an idea of what to do. However, we will guide you through the process.
  3. Head across the docks and under the stairs to find the first switch. Use a bomb to reveal a secret passageway with the switch.
Finding the Switches
  1. The second clue mentions weaknesses in the walls that the eyes can't see and a secret waits behind twin columns.
  2. Head up the stairs and find the second switch between two pillars. Use a bomb to uncover the secret cavern.
  3. The third clue indicates a giant face staring at you and a secret waiting for you. Locate the third switch near a massive stone face. Again, use a bomb to reveal the secret room.
  4. The last clue says the last switch is beneath a gargoyle. Head to the top right corner of the map and find the rotating gargoyle. This is the fourth and final switch.
Unlocking the Gate
  1. With all four switches activated, the gate should open, granting you access to the great sword.
  2. Additionally, you can discover a secret area by dropping down from the gargoyle location. You'll find a shrine that expands your magic pool.
  3. Now, you possess the great sword as your fifth weapon.

All the Magic Shrine Locations

Guides

First Shrine - Lost Cemetery

In the Lost Cemetery, go past where you fought the evil house, walk through the graveyard, and head towards the Stranded Sailor. Follow the pathway until you see a ladder south on your path. Descend a couple of ladders, defeat a mini-boss, and you'll reach the first shrine.

Second Shrine - Estate of the Iron Witch

Head to the Estate of the Iron Witch, walk out of the manor and go west along the hedge path until you find a gap in the bushes. Navigate around the bushes to reach the side of the manor, where the second shrine awaits.

Third Shrine - Ceramic Manor

Go to the Ceramic Manor, head up the stairs, enter the room on the west, and follow the path to the bathroom. Look at the reflection on the ceramic floor to reveal two containers. Knock them down to open a door on the left side of the room. Roll through the invisible wall to find the third shrine.

Fourth Shrine - Overgrown Ruins

From the Overgrown Ruins entrance, climb up the ladder, head to the west of the camp, and drop down a ledge to find a pathway leading to the fourth shrine.

Fifth Shrine - Overgrown Ruins

Turn around from the Overgrown Ruins entrance and use the hook shot to cross platforms with anchors. Hit the switch with an arrow and proceed to battle some enemies. After defeating them, climb the ladder that appears to reach the fifth shrine.

Sixth Shrine - Flooded Fortress

Start from the Flooded Fortress entrance and backtrack towards the entrance. Look for a divot at the top of the map with a stone archway in the water. Shoot the switch, and a path will appear leading to the sixth shrine.

Seventh Shrine - Stranded Sailor

Head up the stairs from the Stranded Sailor entrance, then follow the path toward the ice caves. Keep heading north at a crossroads to find a tower. Drop down through the sewer grate and follow the path to the seventh shrine.

Eighth Shrine - Castle Lockstone

From the Castle Lockstone entrance, head to the west and climb up the ladder in the burial room. Continue west until you find anchors on platforms. Use the hook shot to reach a hidden room, and hit the switch to lower a gate. Go through the gate and find the entrance to the eighth shrine.

Once you've gotten all eight shrines, it will increase your capacity for doing projectile magic by two, giving you a total of six crystals.
