Focus on killing the monsters you encounter, rather than other players. You will earn much more exp if you focus on the monsters, because you’ll be able to kill more monsters in the same amount of time. It’s still worth fighting other players, but don’t go out of your way to do so.

This is also important because if you lose a round, you’ll need to start over with another hunter and new items. Therefore, earning rewards from killing monsters is important to make sure you’ll be able to afford it and won’t fall behind.

Pay close attention to the game’s audio (and make sure you can hear the game clearly). Little sounds can give you a clue about where enemies are and how you should react. Paying attention will give you an added advantage.

Use enemies to your advantage, too, such as using the distraction of nearby monsters to sneak past (or ambush) other players, or luring other players into a dangerous situation.

Wagons contain supplies, including ammo and health items. If you see a wagon nearby and you need some help, go there to resupply. Stay alert for other players who might have the same idea.

Pay attention to enemy weaknesses before you pick a contract. Some will be significantly harder to defeat if you don’t have the right weapons yet. Save those for when you’re ready for them.
