Tereshkova Robots

Easter Eggs

Atomic heart is centered around the USSR (Soviet Russia). The game is filled with references to heroes and iconic moments from USSR history. One of the most notable easter egg references in the game is a robot model named ‘Tereshkova’.

Valentina Tereshkova, born in 1937, was the youngest and first Russian woman in space, she flew a solo mission on the Vostok 6 in 1963 and still remains as the only woman to have been on a solo orbit of the earth.

The Tereshkova robots are named in honor of her achievements. The robots share no resemblance to her portrait.

ORB Reborn shares some easter eggs found in Atomic Heart.

Fahrenheit 451

Easter Eggs

There is a scene at the beginning of Atomic Hearts, during a boat ride Major is floating down the canal, that gives reference to Ray Bradbury’s dystopian novel “Fahrenheit 451”. As Major approaches the shore, you can hear a woman and a man conversing.

The controls from a man’s group of ‘Vovchik’ robots have begun to malfunction. A Babushka (Russian slang for grandmother) offers to assist a man. The man replies and says “Thanks, Babushka. Code 0451”.

The words “Code 0451” is reference to the novel “Fahrenheit 451”, and is also believed to reference to the real-life code used to open the doors at “Looking Glass Studios”.

Soviet Posters and Monuments

Easter Eggs

Atomic Heart is set in USSR Soviet Russia, the game has realistic USSR monuments to real-life Soviet Union war monuments. If you go to the museum you will notice the eternal flame monument that serves as a remembrance to military and civilian casualties from NATO bombing.
