The new drop dash from Sonic Mania has been added to this version of the game along with Super Sonic mode, the option to play with all the chaos emeralds from the start, and the 3DS versions Ring Keeper mode, only lose half the rings when damaged. It also includes Knuckles version of the game, Knuckles the Echidna in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, that was original accessed by connecting Sonic the Hedgehog 2 with the Sonic & Knuckles cartridge.
