Beginner’s Guide

Dicas

Use the Correct Machine for the Correct Task

This game has many different machines, each of which performs different tasks—knowing which machine to use for what will help you tend the land and make a profit more effectively.

  • The cultivator loosens the soil and prepares it for crop sowing. You can also use it to get rid of harmful weeds that will suffocate your crops.
  • The seed drill sows the seeds.
  • The fertilizer spreader spreads fertilizer to help the plants grow faster and larger.
  • The herbicide sprayer helps diminish the number of weeds that will grow.
  • The harvester harvests every crop and pours them into the trailer of a tractor that will transport the goods to the buyer.

Plant Wheat First

There are ten different crops for you to harvest in this game, and while that doesn’t seem like much, once you start, you’ll find that it takes a while to master even the most basic crops.

Each crop has different growth cycles and nurturing styles, and some plants like cotton, potatoes, and sugar beets require sophisticated machinery before you can even think of planting them, meaning you’ll need to have enough cash to invest in them.

Just stick with wheat for a while. It’s the easiest to grow and tend and will provide you with enough profit and experience to experiment with other crops. Once you’ve mastered the harvest cycle of the wheat and can handle the heavy machine required for growing and harvesting it faster, you can start growing other crops.

Master The Basics Before Expanding Your Farm

Even after you’ve finished the tutorial, there are plenty of things for you to learn and experience in the game. Once you can freely explore the game, you may feel tempted to expand your farm, either by purchasing additional plots of land or making improvements like crop varieties, livestock, and machines. This is expensive.

Let’s say you have just enough cash to purchase a plot of land and decide to go through with the transaction because now you’ll have space for even more crops, which means more profit. Well, now not only are you left with no emergency cash, but you have even more responsibility because of how much work comes with the new plot of land.

Managing three plots of land is challenging enough and will take time to master as you need to monitor each plot’s status and stage in the farming cycle. There will always be something to do at the beginning, so don’t rush through and dig yourself into an ever-growing hole of chaos.

Once you’ve got a few helpers, are familiar with the lay of the land, and have mastered the art of cultivating, seeding, harvesting, storing, and selling your crops, you can think about expanding your farm.

Be Smart When Selling Your Crops

You don’t just need to have good farming skills to play this game; you also need to be good at business and ensure you’re selling your crops at a fair price. Supply and demand rule the market the same as they would in real life, so make sure you regularly check the fluctuations of prices to catch when they reach the highest point.

Remember, you can influence the supply and demand balance yourself. For example, if you want a better price for barley, you can sell a large amount of wheat, decreasing its demand and boosting the demand for other crops (including barley).

Avoid Raising Livestock As Long As You Can

It can be tempting to purchase livestock, especially since animal products produce better profits than crops. However, it’s good to keep in mind that raising animals takes a lot of time and money. You must ensure you have enough food and all the necessary equipment to take care of the livestock you’ve decided to raise.

Additionally, spending time raising animals rather than harvesting crops at the beginning of the game can be a massive mistake because you need food for your livestock. If you’re not growing crops, they’ll either starve, or you’ll have to spend a lot of money on store-bought food.

Keep Your Farm Organized

It can be challenging to keep your farm in order. As you expand and purchase more machinery to increase your productivity, the game will get a bit more complicated, especially if you lose track of a machine.

Finding the vehicle you left in a particular spot because you were too lazy to return it to a more central location can become a hassle, especially if you leave them scattered in random locations. Keep all your vehicles in a central location, or at least keep crop-specific vehicles and their necessary attachments in the same area.

It’s good to set up a designated location for your vehicles so you’re not left scouring the globe trying to find a tractor with a very specific attachment to harvest crops that are quickly nearing the end of their life expectancy. Plus, having them organized according to which machines and attachments do what will leave you less confused and able to memorize which attachment you need to use for which point of your crops’ growth stage.
