Wrath of the Righteous is based on an adventure path in which you are ultimately awarded supreme powers from mythic sources, which is reflected in the game as various Mythic Paths from which to choose. These will bestow special powers and abilities on your main character that correspond to their sources.

The game features ten Mythic Paths. The majority of these are simple to unlock, but some require more detailed explanations. Here are some of the simpler ones:

• The Angel and Demon Mythic Paths- Automatically unlocked in the Prologue.
• The Aeon Mythic Path- This Path is unlockable during Act One if you obtain the purple crystal knife. To get this purple crystal knife, you must interact with an unusual warped object in Kenabres' Market Square. When interacting with the Wardstone at the end of the Act, you must choose the [Aeon] option.
• The Azata Mythic Path- This Path requires you to finish the Starward Gaze quest by singing along with Desna's priests.
• The Trickster Mythic Path- You must visit the Blackwing Library during Act One and confront the cultists there using the [Trickster] dialogue options.
• The Legend Mythic Path- This is technically just an additional option available once you reach the eighth Mythic Rank.
