You cannot change your class once you’ve created your character. One of the things determined by your class is which type of weapon you can use, so keep that in mind while making your decision.
Gear is critical. Get better gear from quests and enemy drops, and use gems to further improve your gear.
If you hold down the loot button, you’ll pick up all the nearby loot.
Skills are set up in special combos called chains. Once you use the first skill in a chain, the game will prompt you to use the others, allowing you to set up many attacks.
If a red circle appears under your character in combat, that means an enemy is targeting you. If a purple circle appears under your character, it means an enemy targeting you is going to cast something.
Gather materials whenever you see them. They’ll be useful to you for crafting, and some can be used even on their own.
You sometimes lose an equipped crystal when you die, so make sure you have a few on hand.
Every 30 minutes, the “Unstuck” option becomes available from the options menu. This allows you to teleport back to town without using a scroll.
There are special events where strongboxes are guaranteed to have special items. Save your strongbox keys for these events. Strongbox loot also scales to your level, so wait until you’ve maxed out your level before opening them.
Use non-numbered Master Enigmatic scrolls for the best chance as masterworking your gear.
You can remap the controls completely. Since there are many abilities, items, etc. to keep track of, experiment with different control schemes until you find one that works well for you.
