Using wood to build shafts as you dig underground will provide you with a safe way to quickly return to the surface.

Ropes are also useful, and you can swing while hanging onto a rope.

Get a Lantern Stick or mining helmet so you’ll have light while mining.

Hunting spears are useful both as a weapon and for getting meat.

Wheat won’t go bad until you process it, so you can save up lots of wheat early on in the game without needing to use it right away.

Cooked food is much more effective than raw food. An early place you can cook food is at the first outpost.

Cooking food will also reset how long it will take until it goes bad.

To travel to other planets, you must sit in the captain’s chair and then select the magnifying glass. This will let you visit other planets.

If you loot too many things (to the point of taking things apart) while on other planets, the people there will turn hostile.
