Raiden Costume Unlockables

If you complete the 38 unique missions and prologue with an S rank, you will be able to develop a Raiden costume at Mother Base.

Kept you waiting, huh? Easter Eggs

When you save Miller, he will ask you to say “Kept you waiting, huh?” There is a button prompt that will let you do so. This line has been repeated many times throughout the series.

When you first start the game, it will ask you to enter your birthday. When that day arrives, there will be a birthday party at Mother Base.

Kojima Productions Easter Eggs

In the prologue, there is a bulletin board that mentions Kojima Productions and the Fox Team. It also lists booth number CP 2308, which was the booth used by Kojima Productions at GDC 2013.


MGS Quotes Easter Eggs

If you shoot the AI Pod in Side Op 143, it will say lines from Metal Gear Solid 3 and Peace Walker.


P.T. Radio Broadcast Easter Eggs

There is a radio in Africa that plays a broadcast about a murder that was originally heard during P.T., the demo for the now-cancelled Silent Hills.


Save Data Bonuses Unlockables

If you have a save file from Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, you can import it to get some bonuses:

  • Hideo Kojima on your crew
  • A skin that makes you look like Snake from the original Metal Gear Solid
  • The Ground Zeroes Sneaking Suit as an upgrade from Mother Base
  • A gold bionic arm (only if your save data is from after Mission 5: “Over the Fence” and saving the Bionic Engineer)


Recruit D-Dog Unlockables

At the start of Mission 4, extract the puppy to take him to your base. Once you complete Missions 7-10 plus any other two missions, he will grow up into D-Dog and be a possible buddy you can take with you.


Recruit Quiet Unlockables

During Mission 11, do not kill Quiet. Then complete Mission 14, which will allow you to visit her. Visit her at the medical platform and then at her cell. When you call the helicopter to leave, Quiet will join you and be a possible buddy you can take with you.


Chicken Hat Unlockables

If you die many times in a row, you will get the Chicken Hat. The Chicken Hat can be used three times in a mission and makes it so that enemies will not attack you and will fall unconscious. You will not be able to get a rank higher than A with this hat equipped.


Hidden Music Tape Locations Hints

There are many music tapes to collect, which you can then listen to whenever you want. Some are given to you as rewards for missions, but 32 of them are hidden in the game. Use the video guide below to find the locations of these 32 tapes.


All Animal Locations Hints

There are 47 wild animals you can extract. To extract them, you can use the capture cage (fully upgraded to be able to get them all), Fulton extract them, or stun and pick up smaller animals. No matter which methods you use, you’ll need to know the animals’ locations to get them all.
