Unlock Best Armor Sets

Steinjborn armor set

You'll need the draupnir spear before you can acquire the Steinjborn armor set. Assuming you have the spearhead in hand, proceed to Midgard's Lake of Nine and search for the hunk of ice with the golden fissures. In order to get the magical artifact, you must first melt the block of ice.

You'll need to fight four troll bosses after equipping the relic in order to obtain the materials for making troll-themed armor. Two of the trolls can be found at Noatun's Garden Vanaheim, and the rest can be found in the abandoned Outpost of Midgard, the Forbidden Sands of Altheim, and other places.

The Dragon Armor

The dragon scale set cannot be made until Chapter 13 is finished. When you're ready, go find Helka at Freya's camp to begin the Scent of Survival quest. There's a favor for Helka that you need to do.

After the favor is returned, access to the crater will be granted. Find the armor plans here. For the breastplate, you'll need one dragon claw and two dragon fangs. You'll need ten dragon teeth for the girdle, and ten more for the bracers. As you follow the clues around The Crater, you'll find everything you need.

Berserker armor set

Locating Berserker gravestones is required for the acquiring of the Berserker Armor Set. You'll face off against Berserkers there. A number of gravestones dot the landscape. The berserker near Kings Grave in Midgard is a must-kill if you're looking for a significant berserker. The Hilt of Skofnung Relic is yours to keep once you've dispatched this berserker.

Here’s a video showing you the best armor sets in God of War Ragnarok and how to get them.

Destroy Everything

The best way to get loads of hacksilver is by smashing as many of the surrounding objects as you can. Hacksilver is GOWR's primary currency and can be used to upgrade your weapons and armor. If you smash everything, from pots to boxes, you will often find little bags that are glowing. You can also find fury, health stones, and other valuable items, especially during boss fights.

Easter Eggs

As we all know, Kratos tends to keep his past to himself. In God of War: Ragnarok, he eventually opens up to Freya about his younger brother Deimos. Deimos is spoken of in the first God of War and then seen in the God of War: Ghost of Sparta PSP game. He was killed by Thanatos and was a compelling reason why Kratos destroyed Olympus.

Here’s a video with more Easter Eggs you might have missed.

Playstation All-Stars Battle

Easter Eggs

The All-Star Battle Royal is an epic battle between all of the main characters in PlayStation games. One of them is Kratos. In God of War: Ragnarok, Mimir (the head hanging from Kratos’ belt) mentions that he heard that Kratos fought in a tournament with all these characters. He doesn’t name the character, but he does describe them by saying Kratos fought princesses, great musicians, and automata.

The Boat Captain

Easter Eggs

The boat captain has been referenced often throughout the God of War series. He was killed by falling into a dead hydra’s belly while stealing a key. Kratos remembers him specifically as one of the people he has wronged. Just after Kratos frees Lyngbakr, he mentions how it reminded him of the boat captain. You can see clearly how Kratos was in the earlier games and how he has developed since then. You can hear the regret in his voice.

Bear McCreary

Easter Eggs

If you look closely in "God of War: Ragnarok," you'll notice that Raeb, the musician, resembles Bear McCreary. This is because he is modeled after him. Bear is the musician who has done most of the soundtracks for the characters in GOWR. Bear is also spelled Raeb backwards. Aside from doing the music for the game, Bear also plays this character and does a great job at it.

Bjorn Bear Glitch

After laying Fenrer to rest, Atreus' emotions take over, and he loses control. He takes on a bear shape and rushes Kratos. To make matters worse, the bear manages to get himself wedged between two rocks in the process of this conflict. When hit, the remaining half of its body glitches and morphs, and it has lost half of its body.

The bear makes no attempts to harm you or to move away from you. You also can't intentionally hurt the bear or carelessly knock it around. It seems like Bjorn fell into a trap. To fix the glitch, you need to continuously attack Bjorn until your rage meter is full. Activate rage blast and your will free Bjorn. Be ready, because he will come out swinging when he is freed.

Here’s a video to show you how to free Bjorn.

Use artefacts

As you travel the different realms, you'll discover relics. Books and poetry are common forms, and you can make a good profit by selling them to Brock and Sindri. Most of these result in humorous exchanges with Mimir, and some of them even have tasks tied to them. You can still add to your collection even if you sell any of your things, and the extra Hacksilver you earn can be used to buy enhancements and other goodies.

Opening Chests

When it comes to opening the chest, there will always be an accompanying puzzle to solve along with it. This is especially true for legendary chests. Each realm has its own set of chests, and there are loads of guides to open them. When it comes to unlocking a chest, you will either have to throw your axe at certain objects to activate the symbol on them or you will have to ignite a fire pit.

Always check the runic symbols listed at the base of the chest you are trying to open, and then hit the objects in the same order as on the chest. The objects are sometimes very easy to find, and other times they require you to do a little searching.

Here’s a video demonstrating how to unlock the Midgard chests.
