Bloodborne Hints on Playstation 4 (PS4)

You can expend health to create more bullets by pressing up on the D-pad.

If you need more Blood Echoes, go to the Lecture Building. At the Lecture Hall, which you must first unlock, get the enemies' attentions and lure them to the door, where you can kill them. Fire weapons are especially effective.

After you play the first section, you can earn around 20,000 Blood Echoes per hour by going to Yharnam Headstone, an area in Central Yharnam. Press R1 to use your halberd, and defeat the enemies in the area. Next, draw the werewolves into the building and defeat them using R2. They will drop Blood Vials, so you can heal yourself. Go back to the Hunter's Dream, and then return to Central Yharnham to repeat the process.

If you need more Blood Vials, take a trip through Central Yharnam, fighting enemies as you go. Start from the lamp and go left through the gate, where you'll fight the ogres. Continue on down to fight wolf-men, enter the sewers to climb up the ladder to another ogre fight, reach the bridge with the Cleric Beast, and fight the werewolves and ogre.

If you need help with the Father Gascoigne boss battle, here are some tips to keep in mind:

Before the battle, find the music box. To find it, enter the sewers, climb up the first ladder, turn left, and climb the next ladder as well. You should be able to hear the music box. Go to the window and get the music box.

Level up if possible and make sure you've upgraded your weapon. You also want to have plenty of blood vials and bullets, as well as some oils and Molotov cocktails. These can be purchased in the Hunter's Dream, as well as collected in Central Yharnam.

Now you should be prepared to start the battle. During the first stage of the fight, shoot at Father Gascoigne during his attack animations to stagger him. This will allow you to land a powerful attack. Dodging his attacks will also provide you an opportunity to hit him with a combo.

During the second stage, use the same techniques but beware of his new attack. Take a little time to make sure you can dodge his axe.

During the third stage, use the music box as an item. This will stun Father Gascoigne, and you can safely attack. If you use oil and Molotov cocktails, you should be able to easily defeat him.

You can spend insight points to call friends to help you. If you need more insight, the Chalice Dungeons are an excellent place to get more. You earn insight by encountering bosses, by defeating bosses, and through certain plot events.

Whenever you aren't sure what to do, backtrack. Areas change as you get further in the game.
