There are six different classes you can pick from for your character. Each has its own perks that can be unlocked as you level up. Be sure to pick a class that will match your preferred playstyle.

Gunslinger – focused on dealing damage with a lot of ammo; recommended for new players to start with

Hellraiser – focused on crowd control and explosives; effective on harder difficulty settings

Medic – focused on healing (as well as fighting with an SMG); ideal for helping your teammates

Fixer – focused on supplies and quite variable; a good choice to blend styles from the other classes

Slasher – focused on melee attacks; best for players who want to get in close rather than shooting

Exterminator – focused on fire damage and defense; a solid choice for a tank to aim your team with defensive goals

If you have a breaching charge, you can use it to breach sealed rooms that contain better weapons and loot you can use. Look for breaching charges whenever you can. There are specific locations where breaching charges will spawn, although you might not always find them there. While playing on the Insane difficulty setting, only one breaching charge will spawn per mission, and there is no known pattern for which of the spawn points in that mission it will appear at.
