The Compound area starts out with only a small area accessible to you, while the rest needs to be unlocked as you play through the game’s career mode and complete challenges. Completing challenges, which can be either one-on-one races or time trials, will unlock new training events and additional areas in your compound.
Corners can be tricky, so there are a few things to keep in mind. First, if you lean too much, you can easily crash. Try to avoid leaning unless you have to. Second, use the throttle in bursts instead of continuously, to avoid sliding out. Third, learn how to use your brakes to help you around turns. Using the rear brake can help you out of a turn, while using the front brake will help you reduce your speed when approaching the interior of the turn. However, you can end up in trouble if you come to a complete stop while approaching a corner, so instead slow down without actually stopping. Practice combining these elements to improve your turning skill.
To get the fastest start possible in a race, watch the fire. The fire is triggered just slightly ahead of the gate opening, which means if you react to the fire, you’ll be driving immediately at the start of the race.
Go into whoops straight-on to gain the biggest boost from them.
Finally, even if you’ve played games like this before, complete the training. This is because the in-game skills of your custom rider actually improve as you complete training missions. Getting three stars will give you skills and physics improvements that can greatly improve the way driving feels.
