Cheats and Trainers

Despite the setting and style of the game, Hero’s Hour does not offer cheats in the form of cheat codes or console commands. If you want to go far into the cheats, the internet does offer cheats in the form of trainers for one to download. Trainers are third-party programs that will overlay the game you install them for, these trainers will give you access to cheats you would not have had before. If you download the correct trainers, they can give you access to cheats such as:

  • Set Gold (Default increase F1, Default Decrease Shift + F1)
  • Set Ore (Default increase F2, Default Decrease Shift + F2)
  • Set Wood (Default increase F3, Default Decrease Shift + F3)
  • Give Crystal (Default increase F4, Default Decrease Shift + F4)
  • Give Mercury (Default increase F5, Default Decrease Shift + F5)
  • Give sulphur (Default increase F6, Default Decrease Shift + F6)
  • Give Gems (Default increase F7, Default Decrease Shift + F7)

Each of these cheats can be accessed on the trainer or with their shortcuts which will give you the ability to shape your own world and destiny.

Artifacts for your hero

There are many items throughout the game which you can come across that will aid you in your journey, one of the most important of these items is the artifacts for your hero. Artifacts add bonuses for your hero as you equip them. They come in three ranges of power: Minor, Major, and Ultimate, so make sure that you aim for the strongest. There are also nine slots to equip artifacts:  Helmet, Necklace, Torso, Leggings, Boots, Cape, Weapon, Off-Hand, and Trinkets. Some of these offer more bonuses if they are equipped in a set, so keep your eyes peeled for the artifacts that work well together. The sets in the game are:

  • Mesmer
  • Rabbit
  • Titan
  • Mandel
  • Tusk
  • Widle
  • Echoes

Make sure to build Infirmaries

While combat is a big part of the game, you do not want to go rushing headlong into battle as soon as you can. One of the best things to do is to make sure that you have hospitals and infirmaries built, what these can do is respawn a certain percentage of the units that have died in battle, the better the building, the better the percentage of units to respawn. So make sure that your towns have the appropriate casualty buildings and your armies will go a lot further.

Make sure to pick the right fights

Despite the fact that many players, including yourself, can be well versed in the combat of the game, it is recommended that for the first part of the game, you should only pick fights that are classified as “easy”. The fights that are above easy, while still possible to win, could prove a little tough for some people and could set you back quite some time if you were to lose most of your army. Some heroes can help out with these fights, but you will have to pay close attention to the spells that they offer.

Icon Gaming shows us the importance of picking the right fights in the early game.

Make use of your hero Spells

The hero that you pick plays a big role in how your fights and skirmishes turn out. Make sure to practice and make use of the spells that your hero has to offer, these spells can be the difference between victory and defeat. The spells that are on offer can enable you to fight enemies or skirmishes that appear slightly beyond your ability for the moment, but only if you pay close attention to how the spells work and use them in the correct way.

Position your army to fit your Heroes skills

This hint coupled with the last one can make your army unstoppable, some Heroes offer abilities that will make your other units stronger. For example, the Legion skill will make small units stronger, so it could be beneficial to you to make sure that you have enough small units in your army when you use that hero. Sending out your army with ill-fitting heroes can be the cause of a lot of frustration for yourself, so do some research and find out which heroes are best to use with which units and you can be the best of the best.

Icon Gaming explains how to best synergise your units with your hero.

Focus on those unit buildings

One of the best strategies in the game is to make sure that you have the ability to spawn as many units as you can. So in the early game, focus on collecting resources and constructing the buildings that can produce units for you. What you are aiming to do is to overwhelm your opponents with numbers while you do not have the ability to do it with stronger units. So collect all that you can and spam those unit buildings.

Icon Gaming explains the strategy behind constructing the unit buildings.

Make use of free units

There are many different mechanics in the game that offer free units to the player, certain heroes can offer units to you at no cost. Make use of the units given to you to protect the units you have actually paid for, let the free units be meat shields for your paid units. Selecting a Hero that can spawn melee units, for example, can be very useful if you are to make a roster of ranged units to fight with. The units that the hero spawns will then be the line of defense between your ranged units and their melee ones. So do some research and find those heroes and abilities that give you free units and use them as much as you can.
