In Datura Time, the player is transported to an alternate reality, known as the "Zone", after they accidentally ingest a special drug called "Datura". During their time in the Zone, they meet different characters (some friendly, some not), who soon make it clear to the player that they are not where they belong, and that there is a whole lot more going on than meets the eye. By interacting with characters, exploring the Zone and avoiding the dangers that come along the way, the player discovers that the Zone is kind of a limbo for souls of people from Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union, and is being controlled by evil and sinister entities.
