  • Undermine systems and ignore procedures throughout.
  • Push the facility into cascading failure and temporal instability.
  • The finale spirals into paradox—expect ambiguity.

Tip: Park a save right before the last big decisions in Chapters 7–8 to branch efficiently.

• How it works: Toggle it in Settings. Choice timers are removed, so you can poll your viewers without rushing.
• What it changes: Nothing in the story—just the pacing.

The Switch port runs, but it’s quirky. Here’s what’s up and how to cope:

• Fake freezes at transitions: Looks crashed, but it’s long loading. Wait ~2–3 minutes before killing the app—especially on microSD.
• Install to internal storage if possible. It reduces those hangs.
• Audio desync (surgery scenes): If timing feels off, restart the game to resync audio and lip movements.
• UI stutter during effects: Choice prompts may lag during heavy VFX. If timers stress you, consider the mode that removes them.
• Rare save corruption: Avoid putting the Switch into sleep during FMV or right after choices. Pause via the in-game menu first.

Keep patience handy. The content’s worth it; the loading, less so.

On PC, most issues are fixable with settings tweaks:

• Choices not registering / input lag: Disable the Steam Overlay (Steam > Settings > In-Game). Fully restart the game afterward.
• Missing voices or silent cutscenes: Unplug extra USB audio devices, launch with only your primary output, then reconnect the rest. Some mics conflict—leave them unplugged during play if needed.
• NVIDIA visual artifacts/tearing: Update GPU drivers. If it persists, force VSync via NVIDIA Control Panel. AMD users can try driver-level VSync too.
• Ultrawide monitors: FMV is 16:9. Expect pillarboxing. Best workaround: windowed 16:9 to avoid weird scaling.
• Hard reset of configs: Steam app folder is 1346840. As a last resort, delete local config/cache to regenerate clean settings.

Test after each change so you know what actually fixed it.

A few achievements don’t play nice, with Slaughter (every Chapter 1 death) being the big offender.

What’s happening: Many players report it won’t pop even after seeing all deaths, including obscure ones and inaction variants.

Hidden deaths to check:

• Multiple distinct surgical tool mistakes.
• Inaction during critical prompts.
• Extra environmental or timing-based fails outside the obvious.

Force refresh tricks: After meeting requirements, complete another small objective, then exit to main menu and reload. Some unlocks trigger late.

Stats screen lies: If progress percentages look wrong, verify via your platform’s achievement list instead—the underlying save is usually fine.

If you’re meticulous and it still won’t unlock, it may simply be bugged in the current build. Keep a save near early forks in case a future patch fixes it.

Dead Reset flips the survival-horror script: dying is how you move forward. Cole’s resets are tied to a machine in the facility, and as power surges hit, your reset point shifts. That’s not a bug—it’s the puzzle.

Here’s how to think about it:

• Failure is data. Some routes only open after you’ve seen specific deaths. Try the “wrong” choice on purpose to learn.

• Time pressure’s real—unless you switch it off. There’s a mode that removes choice timers if you want to think (or stream), but it doesn’t change outcomes.

Pro tip: If a choice feels like a trap, it probably is—and that’s useful. Take the hit, learn the line, come back smarter.

Forget hoarding ammo—your resources are information and relationships.

• Scout with your life. Early loops are perfect for mapping danger zones and learning who you can trust.
• Surgery scenes matter. Follow proper procedure—incisions, clamps, bleeding control. Wrong tools = reset (and monster time). Listen closely to Dr. Maxson and staff cues.
• Guns aren’t the answer. When you do touch a firearm, it barely helps against the parasite. Run, hide, and obey the environment.
• “Squeeze” is navigation boot camp. Stick to Fern’s radio guidance in the tunnels. Stray and you’ll feed the thing.
• Oxygen run (late game). Plot the path to Dr. Crawford and the retinal scanner before your big timed attempt. Practice loops let you memorize landmarks so you don’t suffocate on the real run.

When in doubt, pick the choice that reveals the most info—even if it hurts. Future-you will thank you.

• 7. Operation — High-stakes surgery under pressure. Precision matters; trust levels decide how helpful allies are.
• 8. Redemption — Escape pod drama: limited seats, big morality checks. Choices + relationships + machine/creature decisions = one of four endings.

Tips:

• Keep flexible saves or use Chapter Select later to test forks.
• If a scene repeats with tiny changes, watch for new dialogue—you probably unlocked it with a prior death.

You’re looking at ~4–5 hours for 100%, but you’ll need multiple playthroughs because of mutually exclusive choices.

• Story clears: 8 auto-unlocks for finishing each chapter.
• Manual saves or Chapter Select: Bookmark big decision points to branch efficiently.
