Basic Tips
IndicesYour top priorities for building should be Beds, the Stove, and the Rainwater Collector.
Your building goals as you go forward should include the Radio, a Trap for Small Animals, a Vegetable Garden (upgraded from the Herbal Garden), and upgraded workshops as you get further into the game.
Have at least one book on hand for your survivors to read.
Be prepared to deal with survivors’ depression, especially during frequent raids and cold weather.
It is often useful to take a crowbar with you to the Supermarket, whether you end up using it to defend yourself against the military or just to break locks if you encounter other scavengers.
Trade with Franko to get wood, which will give you time to scavenge for other supplies instead.
Pay attention to what the radio says, because events described on the radio may change how characters will react or what prices you’ll be able to trade things for.
If you need tools, you can trade Herbal Meds and Medications with Matey at the Garage.
If you take items with you while scavenging, they can’t be stolen during a raid.
If you get into a fight with NPCs and attack them until they ask for mercy, you can stop fighting them to end the fight without killing them.
Whenever possible, make two Cooked Meals at once to save resources.
Cooked Meals can’t be stolen.
