MXGP Championship

Déverrouillables

As you earn prestige, you will level up and unlock new things. To unlock the MXGP Championship and race 450s, you will need to reach at least prestige level 25.

Fast Credits / Prestige Grinding

Indices

To quickly earn prestige and credits, players have made tiny tracks so you can keep doing laps over and over in a very short amount of time. Due to the tracks being as short as possible, it is the fastest way of grinding. Search for tracks with names like “quick credits” and similar things to show that they have been designed for that purpose, or just seek out a small track.

However, it appears you will only earn credits if you also earn prestige, making this a less foolproof method in this game than in previous ones.

Best Start Methods

Indices

Getting a race off to a good start can give you a huge advantage, so here are some starting techniques you can try to get the best start possible.

Clutch Method – Hold the clutch and throttle while in first gear until the gate drops, then release the clutch and accelerate, but make sure you don’t miss any shifts. This is the simplest starting technique.

Brake Method – Hold the front brake and throttle while in first gear, and then release the brake when the gate drops. Once again, make sure you don’t miss your shifts. However, you have to make sure you don’t hit the gate (hitting the gate will shift you into neutral), so you need to have perfect timing to pull this off successfully.

After you’ve started, try to get to the inside curve for the first turn, which can either increase your lead or make up for a bad start.

How to Scrub

Indices

You want to reduce your time spent in the air as much as possible to shorten your lap times, especially against tougher opponents. To do this, you’ll want to lean in one direction while tilting your bike in the other, a technique known as a scrub. The basic idea behind a scrub is that you need to point the sticks either toward or away from each other with the correct timing—use one stick to steer in one direction while using the other stick to lean in the opposite direction, right at the point immediately before your bike leaves the ground.

Once you’re in the air, you’ll then want to counter-steer so you aren’t still at an angle when you land again. You might also consider the turns ahead and choose your scrub direction accordingly to put you in a better position and further save time.
