How to Stay Alive

Guides

Chivalry 2 is a melee combat fighting game, and learning to survive can be just as hard as mastering all the fighting techniques. Defending yourself isn't as simple as tapping a button; blocking requires you to aim your shield or crosshair at your enemy's attack.

Blocking requires you to readjust and aim your crosshairs at the attacking weapon. Blocking consumes your stamina and will leave you vulnerable to attack when your stamina has been exhausted.

Parrying is an effective method of blocking an enemy's attack without losing too much stamina. You can party an attack by pressing the block button before your enemy's attack makes an impact.

Monty Python Easter Eggs

Easter Eggs

Chivalry 2 has some unique hidden easter eggs, the most prominent appearing every time you get dismembered. The words "IT'S JUST A FLESH WOUND" will pop up on your screen after your character has been dismembered in a fight.

The quote is a reference to the black knight from "Monty Python's And The Holy Grail." There are other Monty Python references hidden throughout the game. The "I got better" achievement references one of Monty Python's greatest-ever scenes.

Bigg Easter Eggs takes you through some of the hidden easter eggs in Chivalry 2.

One-handed Weapon

Glitches

There is a glitch in Chivalry 2 that changes your weapon from a double-handed weapon into a one-handed weapon. You can activate this glitch by making your way to the courtyard. You must then look for a crate of bottles stacked above some items.

Arm yourself with a throwing knife and then proceed to pick up a bottle. Once you have picked up a bottle, throw the bottle with a throwing knife. You will then notice a sword appear at the base of the pile, where the bottles are stacked.

Pick up the weapon and arm yourself with the weapon. Your normal two-handed weapon will be inside the one-handed weapon. Fighting with the one-handed weapon is trickier than using a normal sword.

Spartakos shares a one-handed glitch that he discovered in Chivalry 2.

Super Bounce Glitch

Glitches

Getting out of the courtyard in Chivalry 2 can be rather tricky unless you use this helpful bounce glitch. In order to activate this glitch, you must be an engineer with two walls and a spike trap.

Place the wall on top of the table by the gryphon, and the other wall a few feet away. Jump off the table to the wall on the ground, and then jump from there to the wall on the table. Jump from the wall on the table to the middle tree, and jump towards the corner of the wall.

Face the wall and dash to your right, this will cause your character to jump onto the roof of the courtyard. Don’t touch any keys while your character is in the air; touching any keys while they are in the air will shorten the jump.

Map Glitch

Glitches

On the Desecration of Galen Court level, there is a glitch that occurs when you climb onto the fortress wall and try to drop down into the courtyard. You must build a wall and climb to the top of the fortress wall.

Once you are on top of the wall, proceed to walk towards the corner of the building and jump down into the courtyard. As you are about to land on the ground, the floor will cave in, and your player will die.

ChallengeMode ON shares a glitch in Chivalry 2.

How To Beat 5 Attackers

Guides

There will be situations in Chivalry 2 where you will have to fight multiple attackers at once, there are some ways in which you can beat them without dying. One of the key elements to survival is to remain on the outside of the attacking group, don’t get surrounded by the enemy.

Stay on the outskirts of the group and attack enemies that are approaching you, don’t allow the enemy to attack you from the opposite side. There is no harm in blocking an attack from one enemy and redirecting your counterattack to another enemy.

Some players will attack one enemy at a time and try to eliminate a single attacker, this technique may work in some scenarios, but it is better to attack enemies that are unexpected. Do damage to different individuals that are preparing to strike, and catch them off guard.

Blocking will deplete your stamina, and taking hit after hit will not increase your chances of beating five attackers. Whilst you can block some attacks, blocking enemies will give an opportunity for an approaching attacker to disarm you.

Maintaining good footwork will increase the chances of success against an approaching group. Great footwork and predicting attacks will allow you to dodge and avoid any enemy attack.

If an enemy has the tendency to block, kicking them is a way to counterattack players that use shields. Kicking a player will not stop an attack, so make sure to only use the kicking option when you are sure that they are not attacking.

ChronicOption takes you through a guide on how not to die in Chivalry 2.

Throw a Weapon at Enemies

Hints

When you are fighting in a 1v1 battle, and your opponent is injured and tries to flee, throwing a weapon at them will finish them off. Having a spare weapon will come in handy, as you can afford to throw a weapon at your enemy.

Throwing a large two-handed weapon at your enemy can be mistaken for an overhead attack and will be hard to spot. This will take them by surprise, it's an effective attacking option.

Don't Be Predictable

Hints

If you want to excel in Chivalry 2, the trick is not to be predictable. Repeatedly using the same attack animation becomes predictable, and enemies will be able to anticipate your attack. Keep your enemies guessing by using a mixture of heavy and light attacks.

Change the angles of attacks, and keep your enemy on their toes. Never repeat the same attack twice.

Broomstick Gaming shares some tips and hints in Chivalry 2.

Be careful When in Combat With Teammates

Hints

You can damage your teammates in Chivalry 2 unless it has been disallowed by the server. Be careful when wielding a sword in close proximity to your allies. Use an overhead swing or stab your enemies; this will prevent you from damaging your allies.
