Modify the Hitting Settings

Hints

You can also change how you strike the ball by starting with the simplest mode, Timing. Then you work your way up to the challenging expert-level zone.

  • Timing: wait for the ball to land in the correct spot.
  • Directional: allows you to choose where you are targeting
  • Zone: allows you to choose precisely where you anticipate the ball will go and enables you to set up an ideal hit. This trick is very helpful for those who are familiar with the game.

The Bullpen

Hints

We suggest that you consider that in a real-life baseball game, the starters are encouraged to complete the entire game if they can. This helps alleviate stress in the bullpen and keeps the relievers fresh for the next game.

However, each game is a new game, and there is no reason to save the relief players. This includes the players that have the best Diamond Dynasty cards at every position because this will be better than using a starter who is tired.

Sony San Diego shows you how to keep a fresh arm on the mount by managing your bullpen.

Dynamic Difficulty

Hints

When you begin the game, you will be asked if you would like to use Dynamic Difficulty. This means you start on the easiest settings. This will help you get comfortable with the game, but the difficulty will slowly start to increase based on how well you are doing in the game.

You are able to change the settings at any time to return to the beginner settings if the game becomes too challenging.

Titan Jeff shows you why he uses Dynamic Difficulty.

If first base is free, walk the batter

Hints

Players sometimes don't make the best decisions because of pride. Avoid challenging yourself to pitch to an elite first baseman who hits home runs while praying for a strikeout. Rather, walk the batter if the first base is open and the next batter is weak.

This will mean there is a runner on base, but this strategy will set up a double play, especially for sluggers who are prone to being slow.
