The Last of Us is Going to be a Movie

March 9, 2014 by Staff - Leave a comment

Fans of Naughty Dog’s highly-acclaimed game The Last of Us will either rejoice at this news or hide in fear, depending on your expectations for this project—a movie based on the game.

Naughty Dog, Sony, and Screen Gems—the company behind the production of Resident Evil: Afterlife—just signed an agreement. Neil Druckmann, the creative director for The Last of Us, will be writing the script, and he’ll also oversee the process alongside Naught Dog presidents Evan Wells and Cristophe Balestra, and game director Bruce Straley.

Ghost House Productions will also be involved.

Video game movies are notoriously bad, but at least this one has some of Naughty Dog’s core people involved with it. With Druckmann in charge of the writing, maybe this is one that can escape the stigma of video game movies. We certainly hope so.

While we wait for more information, tell us who you would cast in a film of The Last of Us if it were your choice.

New Videos for The Order: 1886

February 18, 2014 by Staff - Leave a comment

The Order: 1886, Ready At Dawn’s upcoming action-adventure title, has been followed with intense enthusiasm ever since the PS4-exclusive was unveiled at E3.

A new cinematic trailer was released today. It highlights the game’s story and hints at the darker, supernatural elements, as the knights of the Order protect London from monsters. While not exactly steampunk, the Order: 1886 has similar elements—it takes place in an alternate version of the Victorian era, where new technologies have changed history and created a very different world.

Later in the day, a ten-minute gameplay video also surfaced.

We’re really excited for The Order: 1886, and even more excited to learn that a demo for the game has reached the hands of reviewers. Not everyone is pleased with what they’ve seen, but most people can’t wait to see more. Take a look at the videos. Is The Order on your list of games to buy?

Now, Xbox One and PS4 versions are available as well, taking advantage of their higher power to give Rayman Legends enhanced graphics. An official trailer for its next-gen launch was released today. It displays various levels to show off the brighter colors and sharper graphics.

If you have an Xbox One or PS4, you can pick up Ubisoft’s platformer today. Check out the trailer!
