If you’re a fan of the Metal Gear Solid games and interested in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, you were probably disappointed when the E3 demo was displayed only to the press in a closed-doors showing. Hideo Kojima didn’t feel it was ready to be shown to fans yet, as it still needs improvement, but so many fans wanted to see it that he finally gave in.
The demo was streamed this morning on Kojima Station, along with a discussion of E3 2014. Start at around 41 minutes into the video to skip straight to The Phantom Pain.
Despite Kojima’s reluctance to show it, this demo looks great and won a lot of praise from fans. Take a look and tell us what you think.Tags: gameplay, mgs v, ps4, the phantom pain, video, xbox one

Well, if you missed the gameplay preview of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain because of us, we apologize. When we did the time conversion for the airing of Kojima Station, we accidentally reversed it and said the webcast would air Friday morning, instead of this morning.
Take a look at this snippet of gameplay to get a feeling for what The Phantom Pain will be like.
Kojima also showed the huge map for The Phantom Pain, with the maps of previous games in the series (from Metal Gear all the way up to MGS V: Ground Zeroes) highlighted within it to show how tiny they are in comparison.
To make it clear: the entire area is The Phantom Pain’s map, and those little colored squiggles are the maps of the games pointing to them.
What do you think? (And once again, we apologize for the timing mix-up.)Tags: gameplay, metal gear solid, mgs v, the phantom pain, video

This close to E3, we thought we’d have to wait until then to see anything about Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, but we were mistaken. In this week’s episode of Hideo Kojima’s webcast, Kojima Station, he will “show just a little bit” of The Phantom Pain.
This week's Kojima Station will start at 9pm(6/5) in Japan time, it is pre-E3 special, planning to show just a little bit of the game.

Keep in mind that while the show will air at 9 PM (Japan time) tomorrow, that will be Friday morning at 5 AM PDT/8 AM EDT. Are you going to watch?Tags: gameplay, mgs v, phantom pain, preview

There has been some controversy over Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, mainly due to its short length, its function as a prologue to the upcoming The Phantom Pain, and (perhaps most important of all) its price, which numerous players consider too high for the game’s length and content.
Well, it’s already seeing price cuts, even though it’s been out for less than a week. Sony cut the price of the digital PS4 version from £29.99 to £24.99, and retailers across Japan have given it a variety of discounts. This suggests fans’ displeasure over the game resulted in lower sales, although we have yet to hear any definite numbers.

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes released today for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. While a game in its own right, Ground Zeroes also functions as a short prologue to the upcoming MGS V: The Phantom Pain. Preorders of Ground Zeroes and purchases for a limited amount of time will get additional content for the Mother Base in The Phantom Pain.

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will first appear in stores tomorrow, March 18. It functions as a prologue to the upcoming MGS V: The Phantom Pain, which fans are very excited for. We still don’t have a release date for The Phantom Pain, but Konami’s site hints that it might be sometime in early 2015.
Preorders of Ground Zeroes come with bonus content for The Phantom Pain’s Mother Base feature. Reddit user Hitzkolpf discovered that if you register the code for the bonus content with Konami, the following message is displayed:
So the registered DLC will be available in “Early 2015”? That’s a pretty good indication of when we’ll see The Phantom Pain. Of course, it isn’t an official announcement, and plans could change. We’ll keep you updated.
