Battlefield Hardline is Leaked, Then Revealed

May 29, 2014 by Samantha Lienhard - Leave a comment

Battlefield Hardline

Following several rumors and leaks that pointed toward the existence of an upcoming Battlefield game with a “cops and robbers” theme, EA officially announced the game yesterday. Battlefield Hardline will come out sometime this fall, and more details will be revealed at E3.

The game’s website was also unveiled, although so far it contains very little information.

Leaked videos have been uploaded, removed, and re-uploaded over the past couple of days, but EA says the footage is from 6 months ago and out of date. What we know so far is that there will be both single player and multiplayer, the two opposing sides are thieves and SWAT members, and it seems to have four classes called Enforcer, Mechanic, Operator and Professional.

Official details will be given to us at E3… or earlier, if we show Visceral Games that we’re interested.

We expect Battlefield Hardline to come out on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Its presence on the PS3 and Xbox 360 is still uncertain.

Are you interested in this new Battlefield game?

Watch Even More Leaked Watch Dogs Footage

Watch Dogs gif 3

If you’re a little confused about the Watch Dogs videos popping up all across the Internet, there’s probably a good reason for that. We shared some leaked footage a few days ago, but in addition to the early PS4 retail footage, some leaks have also contained lower-quality footage from the PS4 and Xbox One beta versions.

Some players even tried to pass off the beta footage as footage from the final game, which led to Ubisoft warning against fake reviews.

We’re more interested in the gameplay, so we’ll share a short Xbox One beta video with you, but keep in mind that this isn’t the finished product.

And now, for another 16 minutes from the PS4 retail version (although keep in mind that this is a video posted of a recording of a Twitch stream, so its quality isn’t the greatest):

Story Details Leaked for Far Cry 4

by Samantha Lienhard - Leave a comment

Far Cry 4

Far Cry 4 won’t be out until November, but we already know more about the story than we expected to–and more than we’re supposed to, for that matter. A preorder page appeared on Uplay earlier today, and it included a short blurb about the story. The page has since been taken down, but you can check out the cached version here.

“Far Cry® 4 delivers an unparalleled next-gen experience in an entirely new and massive open world.

“Hidden in the majestic Himalayas lies Kyrat, a country steeped in tradition and violence. You are Ajay Ghale. Traveling to Kyrat to fulfill your mother’s dying wish, you find yourself caught up in a civil war to overthrow the oppressive regime of dictator Pagan Min.

“Explore and navigate this vast open world, where danger and unpredictability lurk around every corner. Here, every decision counts, and every second is a story. Welcome to Kyrat.”

The cover art for Far Cry 4 stirred up a good deal of controversy when it was revealed, but our bet is that the guy in pink is Pagan Min. Thanks to a post by the game’s Creative Director, we can say for sure he’s not the protagonist.

One concern that’s kept the controversy alive is that even if the guy on the cover is a villain, maybe his reign of oppression can only be stopped by a white hero. Well, since the protagonist’s name is Ajay Ghale, our guess is that he’s Indian.

Regardless of who these people are, it sounds as though they’ll have an interesting story. What do you think?

Titanfall: More Videos and Screenshots

March 9, 2014 by Staff - Leave a comment

As Titanfall’s arrival gets ever nearer, more leaked images and videos are appearing across the Internet. What we have for you this time are 150 Titanfall images from Imgur user Conkerkid11, and three new videos from Youtube users Sti4thewin and JesusFruit10.

Conkerkid11’s images are from the PC version of Titanfall. Of the videos, two are from the Xbox One version, while the third is from the PC. Dualshockers was kind enough to add non-Youtube versions of the videos, as some Titanfall videos have already been removed by EA.

Everything we’ve seen just makes us more excited for Titanfall. Check them out for yourself and share your opinions in the comments.

Driveclub Release Date Leaked?

March 4, 2014 by Staff - Leave a comment

Fans have been wondering for quite a while now just when the delayed PS4 racing game Driveclub will be released. Now, a user at PSNation claims to have the answer.

This user posted a screenshot of Twitter, in which the Driveclub Twitter page has posted “Mark your calendars 9.4.14 #DRIVECLUB,” and claims that the Tweet has since vanished.

It could be a legitimate leak, posted by mistake, but on the other hand, it could be a faked image. If we assume for a minute it is true, however, than the long wait for Driveclub will end on September 4… or April 9, depending on which formatting convention was used for the date. On the other hand, the Tweet doesn’t actually say the game will be released on that day. It could be a new trailer, an announcement, or any number of things.

The image is a little strange. We find it hard to believe that something so significant could be posted and only be favorited and retweeted once on Twitter. On the other hand, someone has to be the first to see it, and it could be the user who took the screenshot. Then again, both the original tweet and its retweet are nowhere to be found.

So take this news with a pinch of salt. We’ll keep you updated if we hear anything official.

Leaked PS Now Beta Video

February 3, 2014 by Staff - Leave a comment

The PlayStation Now beta is in progress, and even though invited players had to sign a non-disclosure agreement to get access to it, there are always a few people who reveal information anyway. Sure enough, a video of the beta has been leaked.

The current PS Now interface resembles the PlayStation Store, but this is probably a temporary look for the beta. After the welcome screen, you can select “All Games” to see the games currently available—the selection matches the list leaked previously. Once you choose a game, you can launch it after a quick connection test.

The player in the video chose Killzone 3, and it ran beautifully. Take a look at the video to check it out for yourself, although we wouldn’t be surprised if it’s taken down in the near future.

Xbox One Rumors: Titanfall Console, Halo 2 HD & More

January 30, 2014 by Staff - Leave a comment

Last night, a series of Xbox One rumors appeared on NeoGAF. Some of these rumors look more plausible than others, but we recommend keeping in mind that, until an official source confirms them, they are just that—rumors.

One of the biggest rumors is the existence of a Titanfall-themed Xbox One console bundle. The NeoGAF user posted images of the console, and industry sources told Kotaku that the bundle was real. On the other hand, Pete Dodd (aka FamousMortimer, a well-known video game industry leaker) says the bundle was real, but was cancelled due to cost issues. Dodd is not an official source, but in the past he has revealed rumors that turned out to be true.

The list of rumors also mentioned a white Xbox One model, plans for an Xbox One that will not use discs, and an upcoming update that will fix issues players have been having with the interface and party chat. These rumors were confirmed by Tom Warren from The Verge, who has a history of releasing accurate information about Microsoft.

Other rumors include the release of Halo 2: Anniversary on November 11, Sunset Overdrive and Quantum Break coming in the holiday season, Halo 5 and Fable Legends launching in 2015, Crackdown 3 releasing in 2016, a new Forza Horizon game, and a deal between Microsoft and Cloudgine, a cloud processing company.

The user who posted the rumors on NeoGAF does seem to have some sort of connection to Microsoft, with Kotaku reporting that Microsoft wants to take legal action against him and Pete Dodd suggesting the user is a former employee of Microsoft.

Although little details suggest there could be some truth to this information, we aren’t considering anything fact based on rumors alone.
