Garden Warfare Releases for PS4 on August 19

It’s official. As hinted a couple of days ago, the quirky shooter Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, previously exclusive to the Xbox One and Xbox 360 (with a PC release in the future), is on its way to the PS3 and PS4.
It will release on August 19 in North American and August 21 in Europe.
Garden Warfare will run at 1080p and 60 fps on the PS4, and remote play with the Vita will also be possible. One of the most interesting details, however, is that Boss Mode and split-screen co-op will also be a part of the PS4 version. Both features were exclusive to the Xbox One version. Boss Mode will be played on mobile devices with the PlayStation App.

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, the third-person shooter twist on PopCap’s tower defense series, has been rumored to be coming to the PS4 more or less ever since it was first announced. Since its February launch, however, it hasn’t appeared on anything other than the Xbox One and Xbox 360, with a PC version due near the end of June. Is it about to come to the PS4 as well?
EA made waves today by suddenly tweeting a strange “Fly Shooter” image that appeared to be a Plants vs. Zombies parody of Sly Cooper, along with the statement “It’s time for an announcement…”

They followed up with a “Chomper in disguise” for “Grass Princess” (a parody of Fat Princess), and then “a Zomboss alternate universe” for “Casket & Clunk” (Ratchet & Clank).
All three parodied series are Sony exclusives, and each picture contains Garden Warfare’s tagline “Shooters just got weird.” It’s hard to imagine what else this could be about besides a PS4 version of the game, but there hasn’t been an official announcement yet. We’ll keep you updated.
