Capcom Reveals Future Plans and Deep Down Screenshots

Deep Down 2

We don’t know very much about Capcom’s upcoming PS4-exclusive dungeon crawler, Deep Down, but the game’s official Twitter account posted two HD screenshots the other day, along with an announcement that the public beta will be sometime this summer.

The announcement specifically mentioned more information would be coming in June, so maybe we’ll be learning more at E3. We certainly hope so.

Deep Down

Capcom’s plans for the future mention they plan to make more online games like Deep Down, “reinforce the DLC strategy,” work on their mobile game library, and focus on “a lineup of powerful titles,” of which several successful series are listed:

  • Resident Evil
  • Monster Hunter
  • Dead Rising
  • Street Fighter
  • Devil May Cry
  • Lost Planet

From the wording, we aren’t entirely sure if this means Capcom has big plans for those series, or if they were just given as examples of powerful series it has released in the past.

Between their DLC strategy and the series they mentioned (and series they didn’t mention), some fans are irked by Capcom’s plans. What do you think?

Deep Down detailed for PS4 with trailer

September 9, 2013 by Staff - Leave a comment

Deep Down, an online RPG currently being worked on by Capcom, has been more fully detailed at the Tokyo Games Show and we even have a trailer for you. Capcom oroducer Yoshinori Ono got on stage to give a few more details over and above those provided in February earlier this year at the PlayStation Meeting.

The video clip will explain most things better than we can, but quickly:

  • The game is set in the year 2094 although it has a definite medieval feel.
  • There could be a kind if Assassin’s Creed link with Ono saying players can read the “memories” of items (this might also explain the medieval feel.
  • Deep Down will feature maps, enemies and items that are auto-generated as you play.
  • No word on a release date yet!
