Go old school with a twist on your Wii U with the NES Remix

NES Remix has been released on the Nintendo Wii U and for just $15 we have to say that it offers some pretty memorable and enjoyable gaming – especially for us oldies!

The new game collection includes 16 classics from the original Nintendo console (NES) and features games such as Balloon Fight, Donkey Kong 3, Super Mario Brothers and Legends of Zelda. Not only that though (and here is where the “remix” part comes in), certain aspects of the games have been altered from the original – like one of the levels in Super Mario being entirely backwards! We’re not sure whether we’d prefer to play this way or as originally intended – but anyway…

Here’s the full list of games you’ll find in the collection: Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., Donkey Kong 3, Excitebike, Super Mario Bros., Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Clu Clu Land, Wrecking Crew, Pinball, Urban Champion, Baseball, Tennis, Ice Climber, Golf and Balloon Fight. We think there’s a classic for everyone somewhere in there.

New PS4 tech enables almost instant access to game library

July 11, 2013 by Cheats.co Staff - Leave a comment

The good news keeps on coming for the PS4, with the latest being that you’ll be able to access your game collection on any Playstation 4 console (such as your friend’s). What’s more, with new “Play As You Download” technology, you won’t have to wait for the entire game to download and install before you can start playing!

Neil Brown, Sony’s research and development senior team leader, said the following during his speech at the Develop in Brighton conference in London:

You can visit your friend’s house, log into your account and play any game from your digital library, which is good. But how useful is that if it takes half a day to download the game you want to play? With Play As You Download you get much quicker access to at least the first section of the game so you can start playing quicker. So this makes a digital library a practical option in the real world.

Free games: the Playstation Plus network advantage

June 30, 2013 by Cheats.co Staff - 3 Comments

With the release of the PS4 later this year (along with loads of juicy cheats for its games, which we will be mostly focused on) many current Xbox and Wii gamers will be reconsidering their position and which system they are going with for the next generation of gaming.

One positive about choosing Playstation 4 is the Playstation Plus network and the free games it gives you access to – something which Sony has been heavily promoting of late.

The Instant Game Collection feature basically gives you 12 free PS3 games and 6 free PS Vita games with new games (also free) then being added to your collection each month. What you’d receive on joining today is displayed above. Of course Sony can only offer free Playstation 3 and Vita games at the moment, but they have confirmed that the Instant Game Collection will be carried over to the PS4. In fact, DriveClub PS Plus edition will be available as a digital download when the PS4 launches. Thereafter you’ll get one free PS4 game each month.

And if you really want to know how rewarding Playstation Plus membership could potentially be, check out the image above which shows all 64 games you could have had you had an Instant Game Collection for the past year. Note: you need to be a member at the time a game is added to the collection to be able to add it to your account. So if you signed up today you would not get instant access to all 64 games (you’d get the 12 games referred to above).

We think the graphic is pretty impressive, and the service certainly compares favorably to current offerings on Xbox Live. That said, Microsoft have taken notice and are starting to promote free digital game downloads of the same kind to Xbox Live Gold members. It will be interesting to see how the two services compare if and when Microsoft attempts to compete more directly with the Playstation offering.

The official Sony page for Playstation Plus can be found here.
