Metro Redux Brings New Features and Visuals

Metro Redux

We suspected an announcement was coming today, but we weren’t exactly sure what we would be learning about Metro: Redux. Well, it was officially announced today for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC, and it turns out it’s more than just Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light with better graphics.

The graphics have been improved, of course, particularly for 2010’s Metro 2033. Both the Xbox One and PS4 version will run at 60 fps.

New features have also been added. Metro 2033 will now have smarter enemies and the mask wipe feature used in Last Light. You’ll also be able to check your watch and inventory, and all of the DLC is included. The change we find the most interesting, however, relates to the gameplay.

While both games are first-person shooters with horror elements, Metro 2033 leaned more toward survival horror, and Last Light leaned more toward action. In Metro Redux, however, you’ll be able to choose either style for either game. Now that’s a cool option, and an excellent way to appeal to more players.

Check out the intense trailer, especially if you aren’t familiar with the Metro games.

Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux will be available as digital copies separately for $24.99 each, and they’ll also be bundled together as a retail Metro Redux for $49.99.

Some may see this as just another game coming to the new generation with improved visuals, but the new features set this one apart from the other remastered games we’ve seen recently. Does Metro Redux interest you?
