There are 5 Golden Manuals in each level. Follow the instructions below to find them all.

Bricksburg Construction

Golden Manual #1 - Enter the level in Free Play and head to the right until you spot it above you.
Golden Manual #2 - Start the level in Free Play and melt the lock to your right to enter the next area. Use Lord/President Business to press the high switch, destroy the eleven buildings you can access, and collect the manual.
Golden Manual #3 - On the other side of the fire in Free Play, use Lord/President Business to press the high switch.
Golden Manual #4 - In Free Play, after the area where you can destroy the house and road, enter the next area and head right until you find some rainbow bricks. Use Unikitty to destroy them.
Golden Manual #5 - In Story Mode, you will find the manual surrounded by studs near the end of the free-fall scene.

Escape From Bricksburg

Golden Manual #1 - After you shoot the valve off of the truck in Story Mode, you will have the opportunity to fight cops. Shoot all four of them to get the manual.
Golden Manual #2 - In Free Play, climb up the ladder and fly in the direction of the screen. The manual is on a ledge to the left.
Golden Manual #3 - In Free Play, enter the alley and melt the gold lock. Go inside and fly up to the manual.
Golden Manual #4 - In Free Play, go to the gated area near the front-right of the level and fly up to the manual.
Golden Manual #5 - In Free Play, go to the back and melt the gold lock off of the gate. Head through and hack into the terminal in the back-left area.

Flatbush Gulch

Golden Manual #1 - In Story Mode, when you fall after the third turn, stay at the bottom to reach the manual.
Golden Manual #2 - In the rolling section of Story Mode, you must jump and knock all five gloves from the poles. After you cross the first ramp, head left to get the first one at the bottom. Next, you can get the second just before the ledge on the right. The third is outside of the tunnel entrance, and the fourth is on the train tracks to the left when you emerge from the tunnel. When you leave the train tracks, go up the left ramp, head right, and jump for the fifth and final one.
Golden Manual #3 - In the rolling section of Story Mode, go all the way to the end of the train tracks after the tunnel to get the manual.
Golden Manual #4 - In Free Play, extinguish the fire in the camp when you arrive.
Golden Manual #5 - Destroy the silver table in the Saloon, use Vitruvius to open the door beneath the stairs, and go inside to get the manual.

Flatbush Rooftops

Golden Manual #1 - In Free Play, destroy the three ladders, head across the bridge, jump to the area down below, and use Unikitty to break the rainbow bricks. Inside, fly up to the manual.
Golden Manual #2 - In Free Play, you must hit three targets with Vitruvius. The first is right near the beginning of the level and the second is at the top of the totem pole. To reach the third, go to the rooftop where three ladders come together, for the second time, and head through the silver gate on your right.
Golden Manual #3 - In Free Play, the second time the cops come onto the rooftop, destroy the silver gate on your right and go to the rooftop in front of you to get the manual.
Golden Manual #4 - When you are running from the cops in Story Mode, you must shoot the three wagons marked by targets. Keep trying until you get all three.
Golden Manual #5 - Near the end of Story Mode, destroy the three towers. Keep trying until you get all three.

Escape From Flatbush

Golden Manual #1 - In Free Play, head to your left as soon as you begin, and use Unikitty to destroy the rainbow bricks.
Golden Manual #2 - In Free Play, fly above the logs from the train and grab the manual.
Golden Manual #3 - When you reach the burning car in Story Mode, go to the middle of it and jump forward to get the manual.
Golden Manual #4 - While you are climbing along the side of the train in Story Mode, wait for a rocket to shoot open a car. Fight the person inside the car to get the manual.
Golden Manual #5 - Once the train goes over the side of the cliff in Story Mode, go inside the car blown open by the rocket and grab the manual.

Welcome to Cloud Cuckoo Land

Golden Manual #1 - As soon as you start the level, head right until you find the rainbow bricks. Use Unikitty to break them. Take the spring board to the next area, where you must use Batman and Vitruvius to climb the hill. Once there, use Unikitty again and make another springboard, which will send you hurtling toward the manual.
Golden Manual #2 - You must hit the targets on all five pinwheels in the first area. Start from the left and move to your right to make sure you find each one. The manual will appear when you are finished.
Golden Manual #3 - You must build three snowmen to make the manual appear. Go around to the right side of the staircase to find the spot for the first. Then, go up the stairs, destroy the yellow flowers in the way, and build a snowman on either side of the stairs.
Golden Manual #4 - At the stop of the stairs, between the snowmen, jump up to reach a platform with the manual on it.
Golden Manual #5 - Go to the dance club and use the toast springboard. In the new area, destroy all five gray clouds on the ground. Go to your left to find the first one, and then head right to find the second near the teapot. Find the large bird and destroy the third cloud to its left, and go around to the other side and head right to find a platform that contains the fourth and fifth. The manual will appear.

Attack on Cloud Cuckoo Land

Golden Manual #1 - In Free Play, put out the six fires. The first is right behind you when you begin the level, the second is just above there, behind the golden statue, and the third and fourth are together near the right of the level. The fifth is on the left side of the chicken area, and the sixth is on the right side of the chicken area.
Golden Manual #2 - In Free Play, go in front of the area where Emmet is and head right. Jump in the air to reach the manual.
Golden Manual #3 - In Free Play, head all the way to the top and destroy the gold wall to the right of the chicken to reach the manual.
Golden Manual #4 - In Free Play, you must extinguish three more fires. The first is behind the two water cars, the second is at the bottom of the screen in the same area, and you can find the third when you go up the stairs to your right.
Golden Manual #5 - In Free Play, destroy the silver pole near where you extinguished the last fire.

Escape From Cloud Cuckoo Land

Golden Manual #1 - Begin Story mode and head left until you see the manual.
Golden Manual #2 - The second manual is even further to the left of the first in Story Mode.
Golden Manual #3 - Once you get Unikitty in Story Mode, you must destroy three rainbow flags. Head right to find the first one. Keep going right to find a group of twenty enemies you must fight. Once they are defeated, destroy and rebuild the rainbow flag. Fly on the rainbow butterfly, and when you land, destroy the final flag to get the manual.
Golden Manual #4 - In Story Mode, return to the first flag you destroyed and go to the right. Use a character with lasers to destroy the two gold fans on the wall, and then destroy a third fan, which is hidden behind a clock. Once all three are destroyed, you will get the manual.
Golden Manual #5 - Once you lower the bridge by destroying and rebuilding the flowers to its right, a drill square will be accessible in the wall beneath the bridge. Drill it to get the manual.

The Depths

Golden Manual #1 - In Free Play, after you turn on the stereo, head down and then left. Destroy the golden wall there to find the next manual.
Golden Manual #2 - In Free Play, you will use the secret knock to access an area that contains a spot that a Master Builder can use. Fly above it to reach the manual.
Golden Manual #3 - Once you are swimming, there are five treasure chests you must destroy to get the manual. Just follow the path to find the first two. Keep going until you see the gold wall. (If you go through this wall, you might trigger a glitch that will close all of the chests you destroyed, which allows you to destroy them more than once.) The third chest is right after it, and then you can just continue down the path to find the fourth. You can find the fifth on the ocean floor, around where you encounter the piranha.
Golden Manual #4 - When you are in the underwater tunnel in Story Mode, you can spot the manual before you can reach it. As soon as you see it, swim left and up to find an entrance on the right that you can use to get to the manual.
Golden Manual #5 - Once you pass the first school of fish in Story Mode, swim directly down toward the wall to enter a secret area that contains the manual.

Infiltrate the Octan Tower

Golden Manual #1 - When you begin the level in Free Play, head right and use fire to get through the door. In the room beyond, rebuild the three numbers for the wheel. One is to the right, one is to the left, and one is in the middle. When they are all fixed, a handle will appear, and pulling it makes the manual appear.
Golden Manual #2 - In Story Mode, destroy all four cannons on the ship. The first is on the right-hand side of the upper-left area, the second is on the upper-right deck, the third is behind the pole to the left of the rainbow bricks, and the fourth is on the right side of the ship, beside the robot. Once they are all destroyed, the manual will appear.
Golden Manual #3 - In the tower in Free Play, go to the right and destroy the gate and the two gold canisters to make the manual appear.
Golden Manual #4 - In the tower's second room, climb out through the window on your left and fly out to the manual.
Golden Manual #5 - In Free Play, use Lord/President Business to press the high switch in the corner of the relic room. Once that is done, go through the lasers to press the switch, and head right to grab the manual.

Put That Thing on the Thing

Golden Manual #1 - In Free Play, go right until you find a hacking terminal. Complete the hack, and your reward will be the manual.
Golden Manual #2 - In the first room in Free Play, fly up and toward the screen to get the manual in the air.
Golden Manual #3 - In the first room in Free Play, head up to the top-right corner and go through the gold-outlined door to get the manual
Golden Manual #4 - On the second audio floor in Story Mode, jump in the direction of the screen to get the manual visible in the air.
Golden Manual #5 - While still in the audio room, you will be able to find a hacking terminal to the far left. Once you hack into it, you can grab the manual with the robot.

Broadcast News

Golden Manual #1 - In the first room of Story Mode, head to the right and use WyldStyle to climb the wall to reach the manual.
Golden Manual #2 - In the first area in Free Play, repair the object in front of the bleachers to access a new room. Go inside and pick up the manual from the table.
Golden Manual #3 - In that same room, approach the front-right corner to hit the colored notes as directed by the character on the screen. In the first wave, you must hit five blue notes followed by one green note. In the second wave, you must hit six blue notes, one green, one yellow, one orange, one green, and one yellow.
Golden Manual #4 - Once you get MetalBeard back in Story Mode, you must use him to destroy the six clusters of gray containers. The first two should be right near you. Go to the back-left corner to find the third, and head across to the right corner for the fourth. The fifth is on the left side and the sixth is on the right side, both in the center. You will need to use rockets to destroy them.
Golden Manual #5 - In Free Play, go to the room where you got MetalBeard and claim the manual from high up on the middle of the far wall.

Back From Reality

Golden Manual #1 - Once you get Gail in Story Mode, go to the back-left corner and get the manual from the air.
Golden Manual #2 - In Free Play, ride the conveyer belt and then go right. When you reach the gold wall, destroy it with a character that can use lasers, and go inside to get the manual.
Golden Manual #3 - After the building falls down in Story Mode, you must repair the elevator and push it as far as it will go to receive the manual.
Golden Manual #4 - In Free Play, make your way through the elevator shaft and then grapple up to an area that contains the manual.
Golden Manual #5 - In Story Mode, grapple up to that same area and then go up one more. The manual is in the back-left corner.

Bricksburg Under Attack

Golden Manual #1 - When you start playing in Free Play, there are four fires you must extinguish. The first is in the left corner near where you begin. Cross the street to the right to find the second. The third is on the left side of the first tentacle. Next, find the red tentacle and destroy the gold bar on it. Doing so will trigger an event that causes the fourth fire. Extinguish it, and the manual will appear.
Golden Manual #2 - Before you reach the tentacle in Story Mode, find the hotel sign on the right side of the street and head toward it down the alleyway to get the manual.
Golden Manual #3 - Use the mech to destroy the signs for the hotel and the fish, and you will get the next manual.
Golden Manual #4 - In Free Play, destroy the two gold gates in the second area. Pass through them to grab the next manual.
Golden Manual #5 - When you reach the second tentacle in Story Mode, find the small area to the right. Destroy the pile of bricks inside and rebuild them into a statue. You will be rewarded with the manual.

The Final Showdown

Golden Manual #1 - When you begin Story Mode, you must get the three silver Lego pieces. The first is in the front-left corner, the second is by the building in the middle, and the third is in the front-right corner.
Golden Manual #2 - In Free Play, use Superman to activate the icon on the ledge to the right, and then fly up to the manual.
Golden Manual #3 - Go up one level and collect the manual from high up in the front-left corner.
Golden Manual #4 - In Free Play, destroy the two giant billboards on the highest roof, and the manual will appear.
Golden Manual #5 - In Story Mode, you must step on all three machines on the right side of the highest roof to get the final manual.
