Want to use your PS4 DualShock 4 controller on your PC and have most of its functions work correctly? Then you need to check out this custom XInput wrapper created by one enterprising person.

The thing with the DS4 controller is that it uses DirectInput instead of the XInput standard. XInput is used by the Microsoft Xbox 360 controller and is also used in most PC games. Hence it is “the standard” for controller operations on a PC. Given that the DualShock 4 uses another standard, this creates a problem.

Thankfully that problem has been solved by “InhexSTER” who created an XInput wrapper that you can download here. What it does it make it look like your DualShock 4 controller is a XInput powered Xbox 360 controller. You can then map the buttons as you want and use it normally.

The only thing is that if you want to use the rumble feedback features of your DualShock, you’ll need to download the beta drivers. Anyway, it’s all explained in the Youtube clip embedded below. Enjoy!
