It’s starting to become a familiar pattern—the release date of a new game approaches, resolution and frame rate statistics are revealed, and the Xbox One version falls short of the PS4 version. This time, the game in question is Thief.
Thief: 1080p/30 PS4 900p/30 XB1
— Jeremy Conrad (@ManaByte) February 17, 2014
No matter which version you get, Thief will run at 30 fps, but the PS4 version will display it at 1080p, while the Xbox One version will only reach 900p. This information comes to us from Tweets posted by Jeremy Conrad, who also mentioned the rumor that even 900p was difficult to achieve. He also feels the Xbox One will always struggle to reach 1080p “due to the ESRAM and GPU.”
These numbers still aren’t official, so we advise you to keep that in mind, but Conrad has been a reliable source in the past. We’ll keep you updated as we hear more.
